True Beauty Q&A
Hey guys! A lot of people have been asking me the same questions about True Beauty, so rather than answering everybody individually, I'm just going to answer the most popular qustions here!
Q: Can we still pre-order Sehun copies? And Where?
A: As of this point I will only be taking 5 more pre-orders from this point on! I will open up orders for Sehun copies in about two or so weeks. This is because although I have ordered 250 copies, I'm 99% sure that some of them will come defected or damaged because of the large quantity of them. Therefore I don't want to sell all 250 and then have some people wait as I order more to make up for the defects. You can pre-order a Sehun copy ONLY if you live in the United States. International shipping is really expensive, and at minimum it costs $8 more than U.S shipping. If you'd like to pre-order, simply scroll to the bottom of this chapter and click one of the two methods of payments.
Q: I live in __________, can I order a copy of True Beauty?
A: True Beauty is available internationally on Amazon, for I believe they ship to most parts of the world.
Q: I thought the pre-ordering limit was 50?
A: Yes, for this company in particular you can order in increments of 50. I didn't think True Beauty would be that popular, so I originally set the limit at 50. After the huge amount of interest, however, I decided to collect orders until I hit the next increment of 50, which ended up being 250.
Q: I don't have a credit card, is there another way I can order True Beauty?
A: Unfortunately Amazon only accepts Credit cards. If you live in the U.S, you can order a Sehun copy from me with concealed cash (Where you mail in your payment) but other that, unfortunately you cannot get a copy. I will, however, be having giveaways in the future (Keyword is future, please don't message me now asking about teh giveaway) on my Facebook page for both international and U.S readers. You can like my page here to stay updated.
Q: What are you going to do with the royalties earned from True Beauty?
A: Three words, college and forensics. I'm going to be a senior in high school this year, and I am involved in this highly competitive extra curricular called forensics (A.K.A speech and debate.) The costs for tournaments are ridiculous (They range from $100-$300 each), and seeing as how I always attend 5-10 a year, you can easily see how expensive that would be. I've been working for a couple of years now to pay for all of my tournaments myself, so the royalties earned from True Beauty would definitely help! I will also be attending a university next year, and the cost of tuition is nothing to joke about, so the funds will also be allocated to my tuition savings as well.
Q: Will you still update on AFF?
A: Yes I will. I plan to finish Ultimate Balance and My Pet Luhan, and I have a lot of future fic ideas. However, I AM starting school again (And the beginning of the year is always the busiest because I have my last few tries at SATs and I have to do college apps) so don't expect updates all too often.
Q: Will you be turning any of your other fics into novels?
A: No, I will not. I turned True Beauty into a novel because it actually had a lot of sentimental value to me both as an author and as a person. While writing True Beauty, I learned a lot of things about myself that I otherwise wouldn't have even thought of. While I do like some of my other fics, I don't value them as much as I did with True Beauty.
Q: How did you get True Beauty published?
A: Originally I had sent True Beauty out to a couple of traditional publishers. One of them actually accepted True Beauty, and I was really hyped about it! After sitting down and talking with the company and working out a contract, however, I realized that traditional publishing isn't really my cup of tea. I didn't like how much say the company would have in the content of my story, and felt that if they had this much power of my work, it wouldn't really be my work in the end anymore. Needless to say, I decided not to go with the company, and instead self published so I could have 100% say in what goes into my novel.
Q: What advice do you have for aspiring authors?
A: I'm still an amatuer myself so I don't really believe I have the right to give advice to anybody. However one of the most important things to become an author is to finish your damn book. I have so many unfinished stories both on and off AFF. Something I think really helps is to plot out everything that's going to happen before you actually start writing. Sometiems I have bursts of inspritation to write for hours on end, and other times I really couldn't be bothered. By having a plot already laid out for me, it's really hard to get writer's block. ^^
With that said, thank you all very much for the support! If you have any other questions I haven't answered, please feel free to ask them int he comments below! If there's a lot that I think are important to respond to, I'll do another Q&A post later.
