Welcome To PPGGFxion's AFF Page!

Introducing PPGGFxion

It's taken me quite a while to start this, but amidst my busy schedule as a final year high school student, I have opened an AFF account where I can post the stories I had written so far.

To those whom I have not met before: Hello! Annyeonghaseyo! So yes, as you can guess, the common theme in my stories is K-Pop. I have recently become more dedicated to writing Kpop stories (aside from my studies of course). I guess it serves a great purpose especially when it comes to typing long essays in the near future for school?

I'm 18 this year (or as of the time of this post) and I'm from Singapore. And...I am a fanboy.

In this first blog post, I'll show you all my interests through answering some popular questions (popular in my opinion at least). So you guys can take this as a Q&A of sorts.

When Did I Start Liking Kpop?

It's a good start to talk about why Kpop amongst others.

It's actually a complicated story that began in 2008-2009 when I first became exposed to the genre through Wonder Girls' 'Nobody', but I guess I officially began to appreciate the genre in late 2012 early 2013, because it was the time I first started watching that hit Korean variety show: Running Man. Full appreciation came in May 2013 with the stumbling of SNSD. From my opinion, September 2013 was the time of 'Kpop revolution' as I was downloading more Kpop songs than ever before; a pattern that has continued since then.

Of course, with Kpop, comes biases. Currently, my Top 10 groups in order are:

  1. Apink
  2. SNSD
  3. F(x)
  4. SHINee
  5. BEAST
  6. Crayon Pop
  7. Davichi
  8. INFINITE
  9. Big Bang / 2NE1
  10. EXO / KARA

In fact, my Top 3 are what make up my username 'ppggfxion': 'Pink Pandas' (pp); Girls' Generation (gg); F(x) (fxion).

Like every Kpop fan, my bias list shifts, but my ultimate biases are Apink's Bomi, SNSD's Yuri and F(x)'s Krystal.

I adopt a policy where I do not hate on other groups. I may not particularly like some groups, but I respect their presence and influence in the Kpop genre.

When Did I Start Writing Fan Fictions (Or Any Form Of Stories)?

The beginnings of my fanfic hobby began back in 2010. While searching for a preview for an upcoming Percy Jackson book, I came across the original site: 'Fanfiction.net'. After browsing and reading through several fanfics about cartoon characters, book characters and so on, I tried to find online books that had a more non-fiction taste to them. And that's when I discovered 'Wattpad'.

Since then, I had more freedom of choice when it came to reading new ebooks and stories about my favourite genres. Most of which had more realistic and situational scenarios. My favourite genre is anything relating to twins and siblings. However, I do not particularly like stories that involve world stars in them (E.g. One Direction). I made an attempt to write a few fanfics too.

With my growing interest in Kpop came Kpop fanfics. At least a fifth of the books in my Wattpad library are Kpop stories.

The radical move began in late November 2013, when I released the preview for my new SNSD fanfic (to talk about later). Though I wasn't expecting much in terms of reads, votes and all, the fanfic has notched up 23.5K reads and 430 votes as of this blog post. It is still my most successful fanfic to date. Following that came fanfics on Apink, and a new project coming up collaborating these 2 groups is underway!
