I think personally if you don't like the story anymore or you get bored, just unsubscribe. It does hurt a little bit when an author loses a subscriber, but then again they shouldn't get too hurt or angry. I learned, through being a writer or author on here, you can't really impress everyone. Not everyone is going to like a story and etc. So, I think you, as a reader, can do whatever you want. They can't force you to read their story until the very end. And if you don't want to hurt their feelings or whatever, just don't read it and leave it alone. Sometimes, even I do that. You don't have to unsubscribe to a story. I don't do that because what if I want to start reading it again, you know?
In the end, it's up to you :)

Honestly, you should have the freedom to unsubscribe if you don't like the story. The author should be understanding. I mean, I'm a writer. Of course I love when people love my story. But authors should take the good with the bad. And if you simply don't like the story, then unsubscribe my shouldn't be a bad thing. And if anything, if you really don't wanna hurt their feelings, you can always just leave the subscription alone. Like, ignore the New Story Updates notification lol

I am a writer as well, and of course I like it when people stay subscribed. But... In my opinion, it's different between a "subscribers-only" story and a regular story. If it's subscribers only, then you unsubscribe because you HAD to subscribe to read a bit of the story and you realized you didn't like it (so unsubscribing should not bother the author). If it's not subscribers only, then you unsubscribed because you lost interest in the story as it progressed (this may upset some authors because it meant that you liked the story at the start but you didn't like it toward the end, but I'm sure they understand).

well, if the author already put it for subscribe only n you unsubscribe bcuz you don't feel like reading after checking it out...i don't think it'd be a problem...of course they should be prepared for such a situation, but for me, if someone subscribe to my story...read everything n then unsubscribe...that, might annoy me. haa.

I am a writer, and I like when people subscribe, but leave the freedom of people to read my stories without subscribing, but I think if you want to read the story subscrbirte and if you do not like or get bored, you may unsubscribe the author must understand ^^
