Pride!

Today was the 2014 pride parade in Manhattan!

I went and it was so much fun. My friend and I got so many bracelets, stickers, necklaces, and lube(we also got condoms but we only got two and we're selling them to other kids anyways lol). Some of the cast from Orange is the New Black and the actor that plays Jesse in Glee were there! People sprayed us with water, threw flower and confetti at us, blew glitter on us and ugh, it was just so much fun. A lot of floats had really good music playing and everyone was just dancing and having a blast. It was hella long, too(7 hours), and my feet hurt so much from all the standing otl. I had the time of my life, though, so aching feet for a few hours isn't so bad lol. Where any of you at pride? Or have been to a pride in where you live? Ooooh, if any of you have, you should tell me what happened, because all of these parades have funny stuff in them haha.

It's great to know about Pride events that happen all over the world ^^
I've never attended a pride parade however, my university has a Pride week every year. Lots of guest speakers come to talk about social issues, their coming out experiences and what LGBTQ allies can do to help make society a safe place in which everyone can feel accepted :) There is also a Pride parade around campus to kick off the week (unfortunately, I've had class every time during the parade, so I couldn't attend), drag fashion shows, LGBTQ art displays and free hot chocolate with rainbow marshmallows hehe ^^~
