personality: Jin is the perfect little angel. He loves to help others, excels in school, and talented in many ways. Always smiling and happy regardless of what happens to him, Jin gives others the benefit of the doubt and optimistic about all the bad things that happen in life. He's extremely energetic and hardworking. He always notices the little things and one step ahead of everyone in what they need. He never leaves anyone out and tries to include everyone so nobody feels hurt. Since he doesn't come from a very wealthy family, he's constantly working to support himself so his parents don't have to. He never complains about how tough his life is nor brags about how hard he works. He's the son you'd brag about all the time despite not being his parent. Or the son mother's tell their children they should be more like.
What most people don't know is that Jin has bipolar disorder. He has a fairly mild case of it (in terms of the fact that he can cope with being in public), but it seems to get worse with the amount of stress he's under. Jin can normally tell when he's about to have an episode and will lock himself in a empty room. Most of his episodes consists of three stages: first - uncontrollable anger, second - sobbing mess, third - extreme depression. Jin absolutely hates being around anyone when he's about to or just finished an episode because he knows he would be judged for it. Although his parents know about his bipolar disorder, Jin refuses to talk about it with his parents. The reason Jin tries to be perfect is because he doesn't want to be hated or disliked. He's terrified of losing the people he loves because of his episodes, so he never allows anyone into the room. Jin won't go to therapy or take medication for his disorder because he wants to believe he's normal.
When Jin is extremely stressed, he's more likely to snap in front of others and will angrily yell at someone (usually over something insignificant). He'll realize it afterwards and apologize profusely and excuse himself to cool himself off. While Jin never shows it, he hates himself for being bipolar and has considered suicide before (but he never commits to it because he knows how selfish that would be to all those around him).

- Animals - He absolutely REFUSES to kill any animal (including bugs). He's vegetarian to boot.
- Morning tea - Usually a cup of green tea, but he'll switch it up to black or white for s and giggles.
- Community service - Always helping others out. He volunteers in his free time. He loves to take care of others.
- Cooking - Since his parents are always busy working, he's learned to cook for himself and his parents.
- Disgustingly cute love movies (or comedies) - He secretly (and very shy about it) wants to be cuddled and loved.

- Fighting - There's no reason people can't just talk things over. (...not to mention fighting stresses him out and more likely to force him to have an episode.) He'll do whatever he can to stop any fighting.
- Spotless, pristine things - No such thing should exist in this world (because everything has its flaws).
- Seeing others in pain - He's extremely sensitive to other people's feelings. It's like he has a 6th sense for it (so no matter how hard you try to hide it, he always knows if other people aren't feeling well).
background: Kang Jin came from nowhere special. His life has never been anything special. He just came from a poorer family than most people and has always had to work harder for the same things that other people of his age have. His parents are extremely loving and have always supported him through everything that he does (even if it meant they had to work more hours to support him). He's always loved to perform, but never told his parents because he knew it cost a lot to put him through an academy of any sort for singing or dancing. Instead, he began working to try and help his parents out with living costs. His parents refused to take his money and told him to use it to pay for the academy he always wanted to go to. His life seemed perfect until his bipolar symptoms began to surface.
It was in 6th grade when he first noticed his own strange behavior. There were times when he would get really angry at little things he didn't normally care about (he never said anything out loud but he would be brooding). The first time he snapped was when one of his friends commented about how weird it was that one of their classmates has two fathers as parents and that gay people were gross. Jin immediately screamed how unfair it was to his classmate that he was discriminated against and punched his friend in the face repeatedly. The kid had to be taken to the hospital for how hard Jin had hit the boy. After that incident, none of his classmates spoke to him out of fear. Jin cried every night for a week after the incident and didn't speak to anyone. Eventually, the issue died down and one of Jin's friends asked if he was okay. Jin smiled brightly and nodded, apologizing for his behavior.
In middle school, Jin found out he was gay when he fell in love with one of his sunbae's in the academy he was in. Too shy and terrified of himself to confess, the crush never went past acquaintances as Jin distanced himself to admire his sunbae from afar. That sunbae, however, recognized Jin's talent and convinced him to go tryout for Royal Lemon. He passed the audition and became a trainee.
