personality

if you have mia as your friend, then she'd probably be that friend that you would call your "concience". she would annoy you to the point that you will finally listen to her advice in the end and take it cause later you will realized, she was right all along...which also will eventually still annoy you anyways. she will look at bad things in life in a positive way, thinking that those things are there to teach us a lesson and even if she gets saddened by it, it won't last that long. one fine trait that people do like about her is how she can take something and take it patiently and skillfully and become really good at it, like her mad skills at playing the guitar, piano, drums, violin and cello.

because of that, her father decided to let her give instrumental lessons in their music store. her friend is always arguing with her about how she should sometimes "let it go" and "outlive life" you know, the whole "get a little crazy" but mia would rather stay up all night listening to good ol' music than dancing to it in a pub. one thing that might get her in trouble with certain people (if they don't take sincerity well) is her litte tongue won't hold anything inside, she will tell you just exactly what she is thinking and what is her opinion on the matter.     

family background

mia comes from a middle class family. her mother unfortunately had dreams of becoming a singer and thinking that having a child at such a young age (she was twenty) would ruin her career chances. so, she decided to abandon her daughter and her boyfriend. mia's father was devasted but saw hope in the eyes of his newborn baby girl and raised her by himself. his father re-married and her stepmother (whom had a boy a year younger than mia) adopted her and raised her as if mia was her own daughter. 

life-style

mia goes to college and she is majoring in music. she works along with her family at his father's music store. every weekend, she gives guitar, drums and piano lessons to kids and teens. she also has a little band with her three best friends miu, leo  and lay. they play every now and then in the café owned by miu's parents.  

trivias — everytime she gets upset, she locks herself in the music room where she gives lessons in her father's music store and composes music or plays the piano. she hates it when people get too pesimistic. she likes chocolate ice cream so much, it would be the only thing that would make her forget anything that saddens her. she was once offered a contract with a music producer but she had to leave her family and go to the usa, so she decided against it. the word "abandon" it's her kyptonite.

» stepmother — choi jiwon : 43 : music store owner/music teacher : charismatic, creative, extrovert, energetic : mia has almost the perfect relationship with her stepmother, she is just a ball of fluff! those mothers who make cookies to your friends when they come but annoying if she sees you're not doing anything and just been a lazy around the house.

» stepbrother — kang sanhyeon : 20 : music store clerk/humanities student : friendly, lazy, wicked, childish : mia's relationship with her stepbrother would be like any sibling relationship. even though they are not blood related, they were raised together and they tend to fight and argue normally. mia sometimes like to baby him around, treat him like a child and give in to him.

» neighbor — lee jae hwan (ken) : 23 : choreographer : easy-going, sweet, tolerant, skillful   : ken and his wife of two years live in the apartment right in front of you. mia doesn't speak much with him but lay does. as far as she can see, he is a sweet guy that adores his wife and would do anything for her. even though they don't talk much, mia is thankful for ken since lay looks calmer everytime he finished talking with him.

» neighbor — park kyung ri : 24 : modeling academy teacher : snobbish, demanding, proud, has a soft spot  : kyungri and her husband have a soft spot for mia and lay. knowing what they are going through, they will both try to be there for the both of you. kyungri, even though she has a snobbish attitude that goes along with her "model" self; she will try to be the shoulder where mia can cry freely into whenever lay makes her feel blue.

personality

     lay is a child prodigy. he never needed to take music lessons when young, he learned guitar and piano by ear and later        when he grew old and got into college, he was able to major in music, just like he dreamed about. both his parents  a          and grandmother knew how talented he was: not only he could play instruments, but he could dance, sing and draw.            people easily friend him as he is a guy that everybody gets along quite well. every now and then he tends to forget                  certain things like where he put his wallet and earphones, simple things like that. after he finds out about he has a brain       tumor that could end his life, he becomes cold and somber, sometimes a little harsh and aggresive towards mia.

relationship prior to the marriage

lay and mia met when they were in elementary school. they were both in the same class but didn't speak as she knew that lay was a new student from china and probably didn't know how to speak korean. one day, she went to the school's music room like she would always do after classes to practice in the grand piano they had, but when she got there, she saw lay playing the piano. he wasn't that good but it was still pleasant to the ear. she went to try to join him and he offered her a smile and a space beside him to sit. she found out he did indeed knew korean (his mother was korean and his father was chinese). so everyday after class they would go to the music room and mia promised to help him with piano in exchange, lay teach her mandarin. later mia would introduce him to miu and leo. they became good friends and over the time they grew closer and closer until they were inseparable. they decided to make a band: lay as vocalist and guitarrist, miu as bassist, leo as drummer and mia as the pianist and vocalist. lay and mia started developing feelings for one another over the time but were too shy to tell each other. at the same time, they were afraid that it might hurt their friendship but then, everything changed one night while they were performing, lay was having a headache but thinking it would go away he kept playing, until in the middle of the performace, he fainted. when they got to the hospital and did some tests on him, they found the tumor and told them it was lethal and it could kill him. lay was devasted by the news as he was planning on the 17th anniversary of his and mia's friendship, to tell her how he felt about her. but now, he knew it wasn't worth it was he was dying. when they all found out, it was truly heart breaking for everyone. mia cried herself to sleep but decided she needed to be strong for him and would from then on, hang out at his house since lay basicly locked himself in his room. his grandmother, who's dying wish, was to see his grandson get married and bore a child before she die, looked like a far away wish, but mia had other ideas once she found out about it. she begged lay to get married with her and at first he refused. over twenty times he said no. but then, mia confessed that not only was she doing it for his grandmother but because she loved him and wanted to be with him. so, in the end he accepted.  

relationship after the marriage

their marriage at first it was almost perfect, but as lay got more ill, his reasons for living and his usual cheerful self began to collapse. and the more it did, when he started the chemo. his hair was falling and his skin looked pale and everytime he looked at himself in the mirror, he didn't like what he saw. he would have anger bursts and throw just about anything close to him. mia feels helpless everyday and now that she is pregnant, the more she feels like she can't do anything. her hormones are all over the place and lay's cold attitude toward her sometimes puts her on the edge. but just as they have arguments which upset her to the point of having to leave the apartment they share and go visit her classroom in the music store her father owns; they also have their times when lay just can't stand the sight of seeing her suffer so much because of him and treats her kindly and washes her with sweet words, kisses and love making. lay at first wasn't that happy about the baby boy coming but sometimes he would look at mia's growing belly with loving eyes. he loves his boy, he is just sad that he might not be able to see him grow. 

trivias — mia and lay like to play the piano together just as they did when they first met. mostly whenever the made out after a fight they play a song together.

ending — lay goes into icu just as mia is about to give birth. when mia gives birth, we lost lay...just for a bit thought, they see that the tumor looks smaller and that they can now perform an emergency operation as the tumor isn't really touching any main nerves and such. lay lives.

or....you can kill him and make it a sappy angst sad ending. whichever you'd like. x)

why should i choose ga young » even if it's not a serious part. i will do it seriously lol. i think you should choose my character and lay as her husband as well as the back ground story because i think it be diferent from the lovey dovey ones that you put as example. most peole love happy endings and happy couples but i want this to be as realistic as possible and you can tweak this one and give it the ending you'd like better, either way i think it be really a good storyline. anyways, thank you for the opportunity and good luck!
