Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've done a blog post.. Anyways, the reason why I actually wanted to post this up was because I just wanted to share my opinion about the whole MV in general. Okay, so before I start off, BrokenHope and I are actually classmates! For those of you who don't know BrokenHope, she's a new author here in AFF but I swear, how she portrays her stories are just absolutely and explicitly beautiful and she writes EXO Fanfics! EXOTICs, read her stories ^^ But she's currently in Draft Status because she's re-writing her story hehehe. 

Okay, so off we go. 

So, as BrokenHope and I were watching the MV in school, we scrolled down to the comments section and it's sad to see a lot of people saying that 2NE1 didn't put a lot of effort to it, no dance patterns, no outfit changes or anything. And personally, I think that it's a shame that they didn't actually get to see the simplicity and the actual beauty and symbolism in the MV. Through the MV, BrokenHope and I saw how simple the MV was, but throughout the simplicity, it brought out the beauty of the scene and also the song itself. One of the comments we found through the comments section was that one of the users mentioned about how they spent A LOT of money on the 'Come Back Home' MV. And yeah, it's true. They did spend a HUGE ton of money for that particular MV but that doesn't mean they cut the budget for this one. I think what YG and 2NE1 were trying to do was that through the MV, they wanted to portray the emotions in the song and with that they didn't want to add a lot of thing that would mix up the actualy meaning of the song. 

Now before I continue, I just wanted to say that this is all just based on my opinion. Hehehe. 

Okay, so as I rewatched the MV, I noticed that the MV setting was actually similar to a maze (correct me if I'm wrong). And just a while ago, I was just reading the english lyrics of 'Gotta Be You'.

Okay, so the highlighted parts were the ones that really represented a maze, in my opinion. So just like a maze, you're just so desperate to get back home and find the end of the maze, right?

Love is just like a maze. You'll find dead ends, you'll feel lost and desperate to just find your way out. But in the end, you'll find your way out. Love is like a maze, representing the bumps you'll face in your relationship. The bumps you face in your relationships are the dead ends of a maze. 

In one of the highlighted parts, it said 'Put me back in the jail that is you'. So in this part, I thought about how I think, 2NE1 was trying to say that she is trying to get back to her lover's arms and be trapped there till' the end of time.

'I’m okay I’m desperado in the face of love even if it hurts'. Okay, so this part, I really think that this is the one that represents the song and the MV itself. Desperado means desperate and here in the song, CL sing's that part. Like I said before, love is just like a maze, and through the MV, I saw a maze. The girl is desperate to find her way back to her lover and continue on with their relationship even if her lover just ended it coldly without any explanation whatsoever. 

'My love starts and ends with you. Waiting for you in this spot'. This part really struck me hard because through every maze, you will always find your way out. And the maze is representing their love and also the bumps they face in their relationship. Through this part, the girl is expressing how she's already at the end, about to finish the maze, but the thing is, she's just waiting for her lover to come with her. She wants to solve all their problems together and continue on with their love. When the song mentioned, 'Waiting for you in this spot' is telling us about how the girl is waiting for her lover, like I said before. 

In general, I personally thought about the song and the MV combined. And this is what I thought about. Now don't get me wrong or anything, but this is all just based on my opinion and I tried imagining myself in that situation of the song and the MV, combined.

[Okay, so enough about the song, and let's move on to the MV in general.]

In general, I found the MV to be simply beautiful. They portrayed the song really well in the MV and it's just a really good MV. It really saddens me to see the comments about the MV because they're not thinking about the song itself, as from what me and BrokenHope has observed. I think it's because people are so used to seeing 2NE1's MV so lively with having a lot of dance moves or different settings and outfit changes, thus resulting that they are not used to seeing the simple side of 2NE1. I think they (YG, 2NE1, and the crew) made the right choice in keeping the MV simple because then if they put too much in it, the MV and the song would lose it's meaning. I wish people would see the meaning of the MV instead of seeing the setting, the outfit changes, and the dance pattern in the video. Unlike the 'Come Back Home' MV, where it  had outfit changes, some dance patterns, and different settings, it was able to portray the song. 

And I have to be honest with you, I just re-read the MV comments (May 21, 21:17, Indonesia time) and it's all talking about 2NE1, not the MV anymore but I saw the comments about how this MV should've been better at around 10:50 AM-ish with BrokenHope soo yeahhh... AND... it also pains me that a lot of Blackjacks are fighting with each other because of this MV (based on my observation)..

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SPENDING ... 15 MINUTES OF YOUR LIFE (I THINK AROUND 15 MINUTES) ON READING THIS WEIRD AND NOT-TO-THE-POINT BLOG AND ALSO FOR READING ABOUT MY OPINION ON WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE COMMENTS AND THE MV ITSELF! I would love to read about what you think of the MV itself HEHE. AND.... I LOVEEEEE THE MV <3 :) (no kidding -_-)
