When she was 6, a manager from SM had scouted her into the company. The agency saw potential in both Haru and her second brother and offered them singing lessons, opting to professionally train them in a singing career. At that time, Tae Ki still had no success in finding a job, so they didn't have income. Hence, they allowed Haru and Jiho to enter SM and train to become singers . She did not really need to train much at the agency, they just signed her to let her appear in music videos and commercials. They focused training her on acting. In the same year, Haru started appearing in television commercials and small roles on dramas. Her sucess only lasted for several years because when she was 9, her underbite (that was not really a problem before) became more severe. SM stopped letting her appear on television and let her undergo treatment. However, it didn't work. The underbite had caused interferance with her speech and often caused her jaw pain. At the age of 12, when the doctors confirmed that her jaw had stopped growing, SM opted for plastic surgery to which her parents agreed to (they didn't need to pay for anything anyways). After healing, then SM officially started training her to become a singer. Personally, the surgery just something she didn't really pay attention to because she believed the insides of person were more important than the outer, nevertheless, she felt grateful for the surgery because it stopped the pain she was feeling. When she started to appear in commercials, her classmates were really friendly with her. Everyone wanted her to be their friend. However, as time passed, her underbite became more severe and her so-called 'friends' would call her names and bully her. After the surgery, it got worse since they would call her 'plastic surgery monster'. The bullying and teasing got so bad that she eventually had to transfer schools. She just didn't understand why there was a need to be so mean, but she didn't really take it to heart since she's ignorant like that. It was during this time when her parents and brothers became more protective of her, trying to shield her from people who they believed had ill intentions towards her. In her new school, people treated her better because they did not know about her surgery. A year after her contract with SM was over, her parents gave her the choice of whether she wanted to continue on or not. This time she had a choice as her father just got a job as a veterinarian. She said she wanted to take a break from the trainee life, thus, not renewing her contract. She wanted to concentrate on her school work and life rather than just training everyday. For 4 years, she focused herself on studying and eventually achieveing her goal of getting into university. This time, she had no more goals. She felt lost and this was when an agent from Stardom Entertainment had scouted her and that was how she restarted her trainee life. |

Haru is many things, but heroic isn't one of them. She is hapless, at times a bit ridiculous and loud, but always very kind and sweet. She is also inexperienced and naive. She habitually mistakes fiction for reality, substitutes things she's read in novels for the real-world experience she lacks. Her overactive imagination causes her to make a number of mistakes around people. Her imagination makes her very adventurous, often wanting to find out everything that seems to be eerie or out of place. Haru's tendency to view reality through the lense of fiction also leads her to jump to faulty conclusions about people. In fact, she has trouble understanding real people. She frequently turns the people she meets into the characters about which she has read. Her problems to understanding people as real people and not as fictional character cause her a lot of problems. She often falls in with the wrong crowd and is largely unaware of how people manipulate her. Communication is the real issue for her, and she also has problems articulating herself. Her limited experience and naivete causes her to understand everyone around her in terms of herself. She is chronically unable to discern or to figure out people's actual motives. Her obliviousness to the world around her can cause hilarious situations and misunderstandings. Despite being naive, she is a kind person and stands up for justice. She is outspoken and almost immediately states her opinions which sometimes causes the other person to feel hurt. She doesn't mean it 100%, but she speaks faster than she can think. As a result, sometimes her words come out harsher than it should. She is gentle and welcoming to people who support them or anyone in general. Haru is the female version of all the Mr Nice Guys out there. She never hesitates to help out when people need her, or even when they don't, she jsut likes to offer help. Basically the "Yes Man", she can hardly refuse someone when they ask for help. That is why people gave her the nickname "Kure Kure Claire" (Ok, ok Claire), meaning that she always says ok to everyone.This is when people manipulate her, the people she helps thinks that she will always be there to help. Technically she is, but others take her for granted for that reason. She once rejected someone when they asked for help and they immediately thought ill of her, saying that she only thinks about herself. Haru can be inflexible and uptight as well. She follows strict principles on life.For example, she took it upon herself that she would wake the members up in the morning to avoid being late for their schedule. She also uses formal speech to her members and basically everyone which makes almost everyone pretty uncomfortable, but she's not very good at informal speech. Her uptight personality allowed her to excel in housework and cooking. She has a desire to learn a lot of things such as languages, instruments and even sports. Sadly, she is not very blessed when it comes to stamina. However,she likes to particpate in sports such as archery or shooting (sport) ,basically sports that do not require her to run. ► Love Interest— Lee Jinki (Onew) Onew is very kind to her, patient even to this uptight and naive girl. He gently leads her to the right path, he knows that she is very innocent and can be manipulated by others, so he keeps an eye out for her whenever he can. Haru still sees Onew as the prince to her happy ending, but is not sure how their relationship will work out.Sometime, because of this, she puts pressure on herself before meeting him and Onew can feel it. So he lightens up the mood by jokes or doing unexpected things like his Donald Duck impersonation. Once Haru is comfortable with Onew, she would for his jokes if they were lame and she'd throw in a lame joke herself. Onew in turn teases her for her naiveness. He is caring and a good listener. Being the eldest in Shinee, he feels the responsibilty to be a good model for his dongsaengs and take the role of leading them well. They come to him for advice and talk to him, he listens to them well and gently leads them without forcing them to make rash decisions. Because of the burden of being the leader, he rarely opened up about his own feelings, not wanting to disturb others. But now, he sometimes talks to s about his problems and asks for their advice. He is thre type who hates having others worrying about him. He usually covers his pain and problems with a big smile on his face. He can be shy around girls. ► Name— Kim Jonghyun He tries to "educating" Haru in a sense. He spends most of his time either teasing Haru about her ignorance or explaining things to her, mostly about people's motives and behavior. He is a good influence on Haru and helps her correct her faulty assumptions about people. He encourages her to use common sense.Jonghyun is able to help Haru become more self aware. He is considerate and funny, because of this Haru starts to like him. He, compared to Onew, prefers to take on the role of the bad guy. When Haru does something that affects herself for instance being manipulated by people (like really bad), he decides to step in and talk some sense into her. Besides that, Jonghyun is witty and confident when he is around her. He likes it when he makes her feel shy and he'd laugh it off. Despite that, Haru sometime catches him off guard and he is put in Haru's shoes in the situation beforehand, he becomes the one to blush and awkwardly laugh it off.
