About Kris, SM, and writing: my thoughts.

It was officially announced in the Korea Herald that Kris was seen by a doctor who believes he has myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart. It hasn't been officially declared yet, but rather than wait until he becomes symptomatic, I whole-heartedly agree with his decision to leave SM. They have controlled what he does, denying him opportunities for dramas and concerts, and now they've impacted his health. I feel horrible for Exo, because this cannot be easy for them. One of their members vanished, and then they found out he's filing to leave (the lawsuit was for termination of the contract, full-stop.) In my opinion, this was not idly done. He's been thinking about this for a long time, even if he kept it from the other members. I for one would rather see him leave SM, and Exo, knowing that he'll be able to follow his dreams, do what he wants, and be healthy and happy than selfishly ask him to remain with SM and Exo and end up in the hospital or worse. That said, despite the popular opinion and division lines, this scandal will not impact my writing. Fanfics are important because they allow us to explore possibilities beyond what we're given. My stories are not about Kris, Wu Yifan, they're about Kris, a character who happens to look long Yifan. So my writing will continue. Finally, a petition has been made to stop SM from abusing their artists. All of their artists. SM's mistreatment of Kris has left him with a heart condition. Who needs to /die/ before they stop their bull? I just signed the petition "SM ENTERTAINMENT: Give their artists more respect and civil rights" on Change.org. It's important. Will you sign it too? Here's the link: http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/sm-entertainment-give-their-artists-more-respect-and-civil-rights? recruiter=96905925&utm_campaign=signature_receipt&utm_medium=email&utm_source=share_petition

As part of the JYJ/Han Geng thing, SME and other companies were slammed big time by not just the courts, but the gov't themselves, or so I am given to understand. The fact that they have not lived up to the terms of the agreement with the gov't, it totally wouldn't surprise me if this leads them to take more proactive measures against entertainment companies as a whole, not just SME. (Because they ALL do it, not just SME. Doesn't excuse SME by any means, but just makes it that much worse because you expect better from a leading agency like that.) And to be honest, I do hope the gov't steps in and legislates for the end of such restrictive contacts and for better treatment of the actors, actresses, singers, dancers, what have you, who are under their thumbs. This has to stop, EVERYWHERE.

As for writing, imho, you're (and everyone else, myself included) writing idealised characters, not them as they really are, because nobody but them knows what is really happening. People need to remember this is FICTION. NOT REAL. So getting after anyone for writing (or not writing) because of something like this is stupid, and good for you on your decision. If anyone says anything, they're wrong, afaiac.

I'll wait for your stories. :)

About the link; it seems a nice idea.

And...where I can find the news about Kris which Korean Herald has announced?
