Jinah tends to have a somewhat cold exterior, but she is a very predictable person. She shows affection in unconventional ways that may not even seem like affection at all. However, she wholeheartedly loves the people she cares about. She struggles with being social, particularly with making conversation. Jinah often relies on the help of other people to maintain conversation because she values silence and often can't put her thoughts into words. 

Her humor is very dark, sarcastic, and dry, which often disturbs others. Also, she has obscure interests, which makes it difficult to find people she can relate to. She almost always seems to have a perpetual frown on her face. Many mistake her to be a violent person after seeing her somewhat intimidating appearance, but she is simply awkward and shy. Jinah values her own personal individuality, and she displays that through her everchanging hair colors and the clothes she wears. As a result of her unique appearance, she often appears unapproachable and odd. 

Jinah was born to two Korean American parents in Bucheon and lived in the big city for twelve years of her life. Throughout those twelve years, she always felt as if she was out of place. The thought of looking like every other person in her city made her uncomfortable, and she began changing the way she dressed at an early age to look different. She struggled with making friends at school and became an outcast at an early age. Jinah developed awkward social tendencies as a result of the isolation, and her parents made the decision to send her to live with her grandparents in Los Angeles at the age of twelve. 

Los Angeles was where Jinah truly belonged, where everybody looked different and she was free to explore her own identity without being judged. She experimented with different hair colors, makeup, and clothing until she was sure of who she was at the age of sixteen. Jinah felt the most comfortable with brightly colored hair, enormously high heels, and tattoos scattered across her entire body. She also experimented with social groups, later discovering her love for the night. Jinah's lifestyle began to worry her family, so at nineteen, she was sent back home to Korea. 

Once returning to Korea, she felt the judgement and confinement of the country all over again. But instead of conforming to the Korean standards, she kept true to who she was. Another thing that made the second chapter of her life in Korea different is her exposure to the Seoul nightlife. The majority of her friends are those that she met in Hongdae clubs and bars, and she spends multiple nights a week exploring what the city of Seoul has to offer.

Jinah doesn't expect much from other people, but she needs someone who is understanding. They don't have to have the same weird interests that she has, but she would like them to accept her for who she is, including all of the weird things she likes. She also needs someone who can communicate nonverbally, or someone who is comfortable with silence. Given that she prefers to remain quiet, she needs someone who doesn't feel awkward when they don't speak to each other. Jinah needs someone who doesn't blend in with other people. Individuality is one of the things Jinah treasures, so it would be contradictory to her values if her significant other was just like everybody else. Of course, she doesn't expect him to have brightly colored hair like she does, but someone who isn't afraid to be themselves.

Someone who is adventurous and curious as she is would be a good match for her. Jinah's wanderlust requires a man who is equally as willing to explore. It isn't a requirement, but someone who is a night owl would be welcomed. Most of Jinah's activity occurs after the sun has set, and she needs a companion that can accompany her throughout her adventures. Also, she needs someone who isn't clingy or demands attention. Rather, she needs someone that can accept her awkward mannerisms and odd forms of affection.

Jinah convinces a reluctant Sehun to come with her to a dangerous part of Seoul that they have never been to. Sehun clings to Jinah like a scared little puppy, worrying about being attacked or kidnapped. They later find an open gate that leads to a scary looking set of stairs. She drags him up the stairs to find a roof top at the top of a tall building. They look at the perfect view of the Seoul skyline at night, and Sehun feels embarrassed for being scared.

Sehun attempts to be manly for Jinah by drinking strong liquor in front of her, and ends up getting completely drunk. He makes embarrassing confessions about how he feels about her and starts singing in the middle of the restaurant. Jinah drags the drunk Sehun back home and when they finally make it back, he tries to make a move on her before he falls asleep on her lap.
