Ok don't bleach it! Let me tell you my experience, i really wanted something different and when I saw bom's hair i fell in love so i went to a salon. Didn't work probably because I didn't bleached it. Anyways, I spend a lot of money for nothing. The next day i went to sallys and search for some red hair dyes. I ended up buying the ion brand, the name is medium red blonde. I bought two packages since I had medium length hair at the moment I also bought the 30 developer same brand and I did it myself without bleaching. My hair was red just like bom's and I didn't had to bleach it so there you go. I really recommend that one if you don't want to bleach it it work for me and I have really dark hair.

I'm not sure about bleaching it first, as it's rather harsh on your hair/scalp. You might want to get a second opinion. As for color product, my friend swears by Feria. Personally, I prefer Redken Chromatics as I can't tolerate the smell of hair dye chemicals. //I'm a dye-snob like that// Better yet, consult a stylist! Good luck and happy makeover!

Splat is a good one (But be careful because it WILL dye your scalp for a while if you get too much on there!) and If you can find the loreal feria in red, that stuff has always worked the best for me. I also have black hair and I usually bleach mine to a light brown before I use it and the feria always works great that way.

You're going to need to bleach it first if you have black hair.
