「 fashion style 」Dresses to impress the moment she steps out of the house. Seya always tries to keep up with the latest trends and only uses branded clothing. Outside of school, her fashion item is a long coat. She generally likes to wear spring colours a lot. Gets cold easily, so she wears a lot of jeans, though she does like wearing shorts in the summer.

「 appearance 」Her hair length changes a lot due to dying numerous times and also from many hair cuts. So she is rather random with her hair. Has no obvious scars with any significant meaning. No extravagant piercings apart from the two piercings on both her ears, but she doesn't have any more.

↺ more than what it seems

「 personality traits 」Polite, mature, collected, and elaborate. Picky, intimidating, distant, and lacks loyalty.

「 personality 」Polite: She grew up in a family that you could probably classify as high class. Seya attended more parties, more social events, more gatherings than any other person in her class. She definitely was not the richest kid in her year, but her family were well known and well off. Because of this, her mannerisms were picked up faster than others and she tended to be rather dainty with majority of the things she did. Simple things like expressing gratitude was a given, but she knew etiquette of not just Korea, but also Japanese etiquette as well as Chinese. Ways of handling food and speaking to older people - it was all practised and poised. However, this trait can also make her seem like a sort of snob, as her way of handling normal everyday items like classmate's pens make it seem like she believes there are germs on practically everything. That is not the case, it was just how she was taught to handle things in a 'feminine' manner as her mother would say.

Mature and Collected: Mature and collected are rather closely related traits for Seya. Mature in the case that she does not get easily overwhelmed (if major piles of work is put on her) or nervous (like if there is a presentation that involves public speaking) and is quite capable of doing majority of things by herself. Collected in the way that in times of panic and distress, she is not also panicking and crying or screaming. She is rather rational in thinking and thinks of the best possible solution to a problem. Seya values simple methods and tasks completed in due time. Being punctual is also a big must. She does not get flustered easily at all. She can hold a pretty good argument.

The Separation: She prefers being separate from the rest of her class however. She knows a few other gangnam born kids in her class and even one or two have similar personalities to her, such as the tight personality and the extreme politeness, but the only thing that separate her from the others was her seemingly 'snobbier' approach at things and her desire to be alone. Some could even say she is like the typical rich person, but toned down a notch. Seya wouldn't disagree, nor would she agree, nor would she even put forward her opinion. Other people do not matter. They are all idiots. Seya values distance, especially from other gangnam kids. She views them as her neighbourhood enemies sometimes and she never seems to feel comfortable around gangnam when she knows that there is probably a crazed party clubber from gangnam or some low self-esteemed gangnam kid. She pities them really. Party all you want, fine. Sulk by yourself, fine. Seya doesn't care as long as they don't drag her down with their rich-kid problems. That's why she keeps her distance. It's like a silently loud sign shouting 'I have no relation or association with any other gangnam kid in the school so don't categorize me with them!'

Elaborate, Intimidating, and Picky: Elaborate, intimidating, and picky are also very closely related. Elaborate not as in her range of vocabulary, but when it comes to interrogating someone, she tends to be quite snappy and detailed. She looks for holes in a conversation, picks them out and asks them to explain. Like if she wants to know something from someone and they glide over a small aspect in their answer, she would immediately go back and ask them to elaborate on their answer. She doesn't like things being left undone nor done improperly, which can make her annoying in the eyes of people who aren't that close to her. Seya mainly doesn't suit for second best. Everything always has to be done to the best of a person's ability. This is why she can be quite intimidating. If it wasn't for her seriousness in her work, it would be because of her unhappy looks she seems to wear most of the time. Also, she can be quite picky with not just detail in material things, but also in food. She's not allergic to anything, but she does have great dislikes for a lot of things and these kinds of dislikes can make a lot of people frustrated. For example, maybe her classmates wants to order pizza, but Seya doesn't like pepperoni or the extra cheese and no she doesn't want stuffed crust.

Lacks loyalty: Last but not least, her lack of loyalty. Not that she has no loyalty, but that the amount of people she trusts in her life doesn't nearly add up to the amount the average human does. She finds it hard to communicate with her own family as they had always seemed to have a more professional look on her and her friends are not really close enough for her to confide with. Not that she doesn't want to confide with anyone, she really does, but she just doesn't seem to let herself close enough to anyone to do that.  She's rather alone a lot of the time, but thing is, is that she doesn't look like a loner. More like she just wants to be by herself, which she doesn't mind, afterall, she hadn't really experienced true friendship at all, so why would she desire it?

「 lifestyle 」Residence: Lives in a two storey house with her parents and her little brother.

Routine: After school, she is picked up and taken straight home where she has a private tutor rather than going to a night school. With her pirvate tutor, she studies the main subjects and then another tutor would arrive to teach her English. After the private tutors leave, she would either just go to sleep or complete homework. It's a simple life. In the weekends, she drives out to Gangnam where she just hangs around and eats there. Sometimes she would go to the gym there, but that only about three times in a month she would.

「 trivia 」

Likes:

  • Her job
  • Shopping in Gangnam
  • Hotteok - It's one of the many Korean street foods, but she oddly loves it more than anything, but refuses to buy it herself. She usually gets someone to get it for her.

Dislikes:

  • Certain foods like oysters, shrimp, cellery, sundae (or soondae), carrots, cheese, halloween candy and pretty much a lot of other foods that are fatty or are high in calories
  • Plush things
  • Idiots

「 background 」Seya and her little brother were both brought up in  luxury Gangnam, the sunnier side of Seoul. They grew up a with everything they needed to satisfy them, with the occasional treat in between. Seya's parents were not by all means as fabulous as some of the kids in Seya's year, and they were certainly not doctors or CEO's of anything, but they did have quite high up positions. Seya, unfortunately, did not grow up with a very exciting childhood. In fact, she barely remembers any of it. She actually remembers more of the other countries they visited than their actual home and her past friends or the parties. She remembers the snow, which she didn't actual like a lot because she is quite sensitive to the cold.

There was that one moment in her life though, when someone had broken into their house, around about when Seya was probably twelve. The intruders had broken into what they thought was an empty house, only to come across little Seya. Seya made a big racket of noise, of course, but that only made the men panic and they tried to kidnap her for ransom, rather than just stealing. However, a neighbour driving by the house noticed the unfamiliar car and called the police. Everything was settled smoothly and Seya got out of it unharmed. However, this event has not actually scarred her as much as she expected. Of course now she was more picky about every door and exit being locked, every window was to have a safety restriction on it and tinted, and that she refused to stay home alone without someone to care for her until she was old enough to care for herself. But she was not very wary of strange men in dark clothing or about someone who was knocking on her door. Because it was a small (and that it only happened once) incident, she didn't over react about it. But that doesn't mean that she hasn't gotten over it. The people who kidnapped her managed to escape before they were caught. Because Seya was not able to identify them, they found no need to come back for her, nor was she able to give an accrate discription to the police of the culprits. She fears their existence.

When she got older, she was scouted shopping in the Myeongdong mall and she joined a company, where she was showcased as a model just a few weeks after her fifteenth birthday. Her parents were not supportive at first, but the feedback from her parents friends were along the lines of 'expected, she's a pretty girl' or 'wow, how amazing! You must be so proud!' or 'how does it feel to have such a successful daughter?' Eventually, they gave in and sooner, they grew a sense of pride from Seya' job. It gave their family a good reputation.

「 family member/s 」

mother | song seyoung | 45 | Regional Manager in Banking | A more conseravtive and old fashioned version of Seya. She had always dreamed of her child to be polite, feminine, and well mannered; just like herself | Out of her parents, she talks to her mum the most. But their talks are sort of strictly professional and the most intimate thing she had ever talked to her mother about is how to put on make up. | alive

father | song jaehwan | 46 | International Banking Manager | Extremely quiet and usually lets his wife do the upbringing. He mostly just handles the financial side of the family and attends all the meetings and gatherings. He's not very social and finds public affection uncomfortable and sort of humiliating. | They barely talk at all except for when they're at the table or if he is calling Seya to ask her to go somewhere or do something for him. They have, however, had more intimate talks. Seya would sometimes ask him about him and his wife, or she would go to him whenever there was a problem at school. But that was when Seya was younger. As she got older, she slowly began to lose contact with her dad | alive

little brother | song sehwan | 16 | student | acts rather princely, but not in a posh way, more like he sort of distances himself away from a lot of people that he knows. He is the most sought-out boy in his grade, and he does make more use of it than his sister. He's quite a heartbreaker underneath the cold exterior and believes all the girls in his year are too plain for him. His sister would usually reprimand him for being that way, but he shrugs it off. Afterall, it wasn't going to bite him back in the in the end. He places well in school, puts effort in his sports (soccer), and he is well mannered (does not use vulgar language or degrading words). | Tthey're quite close, but on a weird level. Otherwise, that's as deep as their relationship goes.

Hyejung | 17 | student | She's wealthier than Seya and has a more snappy attitude. She's toned down around Seya as she sort of respects Seya and wants to hang around her. It's a mutal respect though, as Seya does admire Hyejung's skills in business and her creative thinking. Hyejung is sort of like the mastermind of the group. But she's more a sidekick, the person who is usually seen by Seya | Seya hangs out with her more during school and sometimes, on rare occasions, they would visit each other's houses. Usually that's only when they are bored out of their mind and they both have free time when their tutor's aren't at home.

「 background 」Minhyuk grew up in America, but in a Koreatown, so he was basically almost living like the average Korean in Korea, with the exception of the intense schooling hours. He loved soccer and at first he was only in the school team, until he made it into the regional team and then in a rep team. When he decided to transfer to Korea, he dreamed of joining the National Korean soccer team. His life before Korea was simple and warm. His parents were around a lot, but he spent most of his time with his grandmother. His grandmother was also very active and extremely supportive of Minhyuk's dream, unlike his parents who were a bit shaky with the idea. He wasn't much into the arts area of life, so anything that there has to do with drawing, or fashion or music, he had no clue. (hint hint: he doesn't get the idea of modelling)

「 personality 」Very laid back with an extreme optimistic look on life. He isn't however, the kind of guy who would think irrationally. He likes adventure, but at a reasonable cost with safety in check. He's rather warm hearted and makes lots of jokes that are probably funny to him only, as he still doesn't quite get Korean humour yet. Not exactly dense as he does have reasonable grades hanging around the B area, but he is really oblivious. His cheesy smiles and chill nature can make one think that he is only a surface kind of person (that he has no depth to him) but he can say a lot of things that come from the heart. His flaw is that he is not quite good at reading the atmosphere. If a fight had just gone on, he wouldn't be able to feel the tension in the air - that kind of thing. It can get a lot of people aggravated with him and he can come off as extremely stupid. Some people joke that his head is as empty as his soccer ball.

His English is more developed than Seya and he would usually practise with her. Because of their times together, Seya begins to favor English as her most liked subject. They both like to talk to each in English when they don't want anyone to understand them. He likes to a lot in English, but with weird things like 'you look extremely ugly today' even though she was dressed in her uniform and looked exactly the same the day before. He means everything in a light hearted tone, but Seya appreciates it.

「 first meeting 」They meet after their first day of school. When Minhyuk is wandering the streets late at night, he comes across a street market. He goes to  buy some hotteok, when he sees a girl from his school buying something from there. But the girl looked a little bit suspicious, hiding her face like as if he didn't want anyone to see her. He raised an eyebrow before approaching the stall and when the girl noticed his uniform, she tried to turn away to avoid eye contact. But Minhyuk had already seen her. (He secretly thought she was really pretty). She runs away with her hotteok, far away.

The next day at school, Minhyuk is kicking a soccer ball down the hallway when he kicks it just a little bit too hard and it ends up hitting someone's legs. When Minhyuk looked up, it turned out to be the girl he had seen at the stall. He waited to see if she would gasp in realisation but she merely just blinked, wiped her legs and turned in the other direction. The fact that she didn't say anything sort of hinted to Minhyuk that he shouldn't speak of the previous night at the hotteok stall. At this point, he was completely infatuated with her, thinking she was a little cool and quite composed. He didn't seem to read the atmosphere and how surprised the other students, who were nearby, were. The other students didn't understand why Seya didn't snap at Minhyuk for being careless in the hallways, and why she just turned and left. That was not like Seya at all.

「 interactions 」 Their first interactions were a little bit frustrating in the eyes of others. Seya was obviously not very taken with Minhyuk and didn't quite like how he seemed to cling or gravitate around her. Minhyuk, on the other hand, did not sense her discomfort and would always come to bother her. Every other student was dying on the inside, wondering when Minhyuk was going to wake up and realised how annoyed Seya actually was. But they were always wondering why Seya was holding it all in (Seya actually just didn't want Minhyuk to spill about the hotteok incident).

Somewhere along the line, Seya suddenly started to respond to Minhyuk. She began to speak back to him, giving back a smart response or two, or even asking him for things. It was slow at first, as she was still trying to get used to such a polar personality from herself. Minhyuk didn't seem to care about the division of personas and just did as he always had. People were also beginning to see the change, so they were loosening up.

But whenever they would tal, there would always be some sort of consistent factor in their conversations. Minhyuk would always be talking and Seya would be listening. Minhyuk would always be the one telling all his secrets and Seya would be the one who would keep it to herself.

「 love story 」At first, they start off very tense. The atmosphere was really killer around them, or around Seya at least. Minhyuk didn't seem to quite notice. Seya would try to shake Minhyuk off her as gently as she could, but Minhyuk was like glue. Eventually, she began to adjust to having him around and instead of shaking him off, she let him speak to her. Sometimes he would just talk about class and something funny a classmate did, but she never tried to stop him and nor did she tell him to go back to his own class. It was a slow progression of her tolerance. After a while, she actually got used to him hanging around and she would unconsciously try look for him if his class was playing on the field. Then she began to speak back to him, putting in a little comment or two. Small things like 'oh really now?' or 'I see' was a major leap for Seya. Eventually, she began to say full sentences by herself. She would ask Minhyuk how his class was, or if he had anything interesting to say now. Minhyuk could see her warming up to him, but he knew somewhere deep down he had a long way to go.

It was only a few weeks after Minhyuk had gotten to know Seya that he heard about her profession and how she was viewed by her peers. It was around this time that he decided to confess to her that he liked her a bit. He wanted Seya to at least know that there was someone in her world that appreciated her existence. But naturally, Seya rejected him, gently she should add, which also came as a surprise to her. Minhyuk did not see her rejection as a barrier between them and continued to act like normal and Seya appreciated that.

Minhyuk got a hint sometime down their relationship that Seya now thought of him as a friend. She invited him to watch her at work. It was a major leap once again and Minhyuk knew it. Obviously excited and still not quite over Seya, he decided to go watch her. There, at her work, he met for the first time, Jolie, Seya's rival in the modelling industry (though Minhyuk had no idea about Seya and Jolie's relationship). He felt that in order for him to get over Seya, he needed to find someone else to dote on and that person became Jolie. And Jolie was more than happy to take something of Seya's away from him.

For a while, Seya let it go. Being a model really let her practise on masking her emotions and she also didn't put too much a fuss (much to Jolie's dismay). Seya let it go at first, because she expected Minhyuk to drift away at some point. And she was quite thankful that Minhyuk chose the perfect timing to disappear, or else she might've gotten attached to him and attatchment meant loyalty and friendship and that kind of thing was a bit too much for Seya. So she was fine, as she still had her two other friends.

But then all of a sudden, Minhyuk was back and was putting his focus back on Seya. But when Seya did a bit of snooping, she found out that Minhyuk was just balancing out his adoration for Jolie and his friendship with Seya, which Seya didn't mind too much as this just meant that Minhyuk was just going to be more like a side friend to her. But then one day, when Minhyuk gave Seya hotteok as a present on her birthday, she came to realise that she was quite...attatched to Minhyuk. More than she thought. She was suddenly thinking that she didn't want Minhyuk to give Jolie anything for her birthday. But of course that was not the case and Jolie had a nice bottle of perfume for her birthday.

It seemed by now that Minhyuk had gotten over Seya quite smoothly and swiftly, but now it was Seya liking Minhyuk. The tables had turned and Seya had just wished that she had liked Minhyuk a lot earlier because watching him chase after Jolie, a girl who was only cuddling up to his affection just to spite Seya, was quite frustration. She never let it show though. She never showed Minhyuk about how much she missed him when he would gravitate towards Jolie when she would invite him to watch her work. She never showed Minhyuk about how much it  hurt when Minhyuk would cancel plans with her so that he could hang with Jolie. Seya was really good at playing everything off cool.

She should've expected this to happen. Seya knew she shouldn't have let herself give in to the boy the first day she tried to talk with him.

「 trivia 」

  • He calls her Joan not Seya, as he told her that he wanted to stand out from everyone else and that he wanted to be the one to give her her English name.
  • Jolie and Seya go way back, from the first day of their training. They had both entered in the same day. Jolie was more liked by the other trainees as she was a half-cast and was quite sociable. However, those aspects of her did not mean that she got the best results from their monthly evaluations. Seya would always get higher results. Fueled by jealousy, Jolie found pleasure in successfully taking things away from Seya, whether it was the last drink on the table or if it was the last clean shirt or if it was dumping the clean up duties on Seya. Simple things like that.
  • Seya's little brother, Sehwan, hates Jolie to the core and makes an effort to show Jolie that every time he sees her. He would tell her things like 'what bit your face today?' or 'are you going to always be this ugly or what?'

「 background 」Jolie was raised in a family that prided victory and accomplishment. When Jolie decided to become a model, her parents had her full support as long as she was at the top of her batch. She had been top in other things like her sports when she was little, and when she got older, she won a lot of design competitions, but she found her first ever obstacle when she joined her first every agency. Her name was Song Seya and she was only a few months older. For some reason, Jolie found more motivation in beating people who were older than her. But Seya was tough. Jolie was quite a natural at pickin things up quickly, but that trait didn't matter if she wasn't the best in what she did. Seya was the best at what she did. It reflected off her scores. But what agonised Jolie a lot, was the bored look on Seya's face, like as if her scores didn't matter to her (actually, it really doesn't matter to Seya. She just likes losing herself in front of the camera). Jolie felt that someone with real passion should be the highest scorer in the batch, but for some reason, she was always lagging behind.

Unlike Seya, Jolie lived by feeding off motivation and achievement. Ever since she joined modelling, Jolie had gone through really rough cases in her life where she almost gave up, but she didn't want to, under the pressure and expectatations her parents had on her. For Jolie, this was all she knew and now there was someone who knew better than her. And no, Jolie would not just move agency. It would still not defeat the fact that Seya was more natural at the profession and who knows if Jolie would encounter another person like Seya. She needed to beat Seya. Anyway she could. She just needed to beat Seya.

「 personality 」for Jolie, she is amore a solid, determined character with a bit of hate and bitterness to her outline. She's quite sour a lot of the time at work because of her obvious rivalry with Seya. She is more social than Seya and she prides herself in this. However, it isn't much of a feat for Jolie, as it looks to her that Seya couldn't care less that Jolie had more friends. In fact, Seya looked like she couldn't care less about anything Jolie related. Anyways. Jolie is quite straightforward with what she wants to do, a demanding and upfront girl who knows what she wants. She doesn't take second best and hates slacking the most.

「 first meeting 」If you could call it a meeting. They first saw each other on their first day at the company. They were both young fifteen years old who were sitting at opposite sides of a room along with about eight other girls. Jolie didn't notice Seya first. She noticed the girl sitting in the center of the room. She was the prettiest girl in the room (however, they learnt later on that the girl was quite awkward in front of the camera and that the real charm went hands down to you-know-who). Jolie never really paid any attention to Seya at all until the trainer announced their scores and Seya came out with the highest result and Jolie far behind, but with second place.

「 interactions 」Jolie loves to chat Seya's ears off when they're around each other. Seya usually is on her phone, playing a game or flicking through a social website, and Jolie is just running through topics like a speed train, almost like as if she wanted to make it seem like her life was more eventful than Seya's (which isn't a lie, even to Seya herself. It was plain obvious that Seya didn't really do much in her spare time apart from study, sleep and eat). Seya doesn't make a habit of talking or talking back to Jolie at all, unless she needs Jolie to do something, like turn on the fan or something.

「 why is he/she the rival?  」Because Seya feels constantly threatened by Jolie and how Jolie is always trying to beat seya or take something away from her. Although Seya doesn't feel that Jolie is a rival in skill, she does feel that Jolie is a rival in persistence, because dang that girl can put up a fight.

「 trivia 」Jolie wants to excel in modelling, because if she doesn't succeed, then her parents will send her to medical school, as her grades are the highest in science.

Well, the song is in Korean, so it would be a good idea to explain it haha. The song is about a person who feels confused and scared about what they feel for a certain someone. The song shows that even though their relationship is shaky and unsure, and even though she wants to forget it and get over it because it doesn't seem worth it, she just can't seem to get him off her mind.

「 ending? 」Why only one? Why not both? Like, some characters may have an unsure ending, but maybe their ending will be predictable enough for the readers, while some other characters can confirm the theory of the red thread.
