Fangirls...

So... I don't know how these blog posts work... But OKAY.

This is a long post...

And it's a rant.

So

Please don't be offended ^^

I avoid talking to my friends about kpop or anything fan-related as MUCH as physically possible.  The only place I would willingly do so is when I'm fangirling over the same thing as someone else, or on the internet.  Other than that, I absolutely hate it.

Because once I start a conversation about something slightly in the area of what their fandom relates to, they just have to go ahead and shove all these facts and fangirling in my face and it gets really annoying...

Like... "Hey, my favourite band released a new song."  And I will always get some person's reply that goes along the lines of "Oh my God!  __insert musician name here___ released a song like 2 months ago too!  You should so listen to them.  The lead singer is so amazing...."

I guess I understand that... eventhough it's been like 2 months and you've said that like 20 times already...

I can still kind of slightly keep myself from smacking you if I'm trying to tell you something and you cut me off to talk about a music video from a year ago.

But when I talk about pizza and you just have to mention your favourite singer or idol or guitarist or whatever...

No.

Stop right there.

Not a step closer.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Goodness...  I'd like to say something to you without having to hear about that 'oh so great' man/woman/whatever of yours.

Sometimes I'll be on Facebook and a friend might start talking to me.  That's okay.  I don't mind.  But then they'll start sending me a ton of links here and there for this one group and every time I try to say something other than that, they just change the topic right back.  IT"S ANNOYING.  JEEZ.  I really could not care less about two guys doing a silly duet that was purposely badly sung when I have an assignment due in a few hours.  Even when I'm free, it's bothersome.  It's like constantly having to listen to the narration for a history channel documentary or being forced to stare at pictures of hockey, even if you don't like sports.

I hate to sound like I hate people or everything...  I don't.  I'm generally a very happy person and I love everything but this is the one thing that annoys me.

I don't mind a few people to freak out about a comeback or a concert they went to.  That is understandable.  But I don't need a link to the entire album that they put out in 2002 or a 240p video of them dancing around in colourful pajamas.

Has anyone ever had Jehova's witnesses knock on their door or said "oh my God" and someone tried to correct you to say "gosh" instead?  It's annoying, right?  Yes, I understand you are passionate about things but there's no reason to go around, getting in people's faces to show them what you think.  It's okay to have an opinion but stop trying to change other people's opinions so forcefully.

I am a strange person... Kpop guy groups don't appeal to me for the reason that I just don't like their voices or music that much.  (there are definitely exceptions)  I don't go around bashing them or trying to prove girl groups better (I don't really like that many girl groups either lol).  I like to stay away from all that because that's just not what interests me.  Yet I have people who just constantly still send me songs, pictures, news, etc.  I don't care!  Ahhh!

I have a friend who sends me EXO stuff occasionally and fangirls over the comebacks.  I don't mind that.  But I've also had someone ask me about my musical taste and then tell me why they disapprove of it and then send me links to a group who they think is better.  That's just... frustrating.  Like DUDE.  I understand your love for them and I have the same passion for music too.  But please obsess with someone who shares the same thoughts as you in this situation.  Do not spam me with things I probably won't even click on or watch after 50 links or so.

If anyone reads this and they think they do this... why?  Why do you do this?  Is it satisfying or something?  I really don't understand why people do this.  Ughhh!!!!

I only let myself fangirl to this other girl in my school who loves GG as much as I do because I know it won't bother her.  I only occasionally send pictures, links or videos to other people when it's funny or something.  Like... a 3 second video of Jessica falling into a bucket?  Yes.  But definitely not a 3 minute video of some performance that the other person probably does not care about.

Please just fangirl to people who care.  Fangirl to the internet where people will read it if they want to (and no I do not mean messaging people stuff.  I mean blog posts, youtube comments, etc.).  Fangirl to other fangirls!  It's better because they know what you're talking about and they will bother to pay attention!

All in all... I'd like people to stop shoving pictures and videos of musicians in my face.  It's seriously annoying.  I feel like I'm the only one who has this problem.  I'm a fangirl who is bothered by fangirls...  Someone please tell me that they feel like this too

*screams while ripping hair out*

PS:  I'm still working on my fanfics.  I guess I haven't posted in a while... but I can't really say they're on hiatus because I AM writing them every day!  Be patient please!

Yo! First blog post!
Firstly, I agree with you on the most part. It can become annoying after a while, but in the beginning they may just think that they are trying to get you to like this group. Possibly so that they can fan girl with you and you will fan girl back. I don't have ANY friends who like GG because I don't have Asain people in my school. Luckily, I have my sister to fan girl with, but I have messaged my friends for the reason of them to giving SNSD a shot and maybe try to like them or there were SNSD memes that fit the situation. However, after they said that they would stick with just Taylor Swift, I stopped. That's what all fan girls should do.

Secondly, I wou just like to point out that while reading some of your examples, I smirked. For example, when you said you have a friend who likes EXO, I have a guess on who that friend is. Ehehe~
Also, you stated that there are exceptions for some boy groups. *cough* VIXX *cough*
