Wu 'Kris' Yifan is the youngest and only son of the Wus that was born in China but raised in Canada. With both Chinese and Canadian blood making him the young, dashing, and handsome man that he is now; he is one of the most sought-out bachelors across Asia. Not only is he jaw-droppingly attractive, he is also very brilliant and is considered top 1 in his class ever since he was in middle school and is described to be an enigma of talents. Born into a well-mannered and highly respected family, Yifan sets the whole crowd and media into high expectations as he is to be shaped up and sculpted to be the heir and next successor of the his family's company just like his father and his forefathers.

He is viewed as an arrogant, cocky, stuck-up rich boy by most people in his previous school yet he is actually quite down-to-earth at times and can be true to the heart. He is often misunderstood by most people. He actually also has a great smile that is said to make your heart stop for a few seconds. With no such knowledge of her birth parents and placed into the care of an orphanage at the age of 5, Jung Sooyeon's life is not the one many would want to have. Her real parents are a mystery to the 18-year-old as she suspiciously has no memories of them or of the past life she had lived before she was placed in the orphanage. But like the strong girl that she is, she decides to live life and move on anew without looking back. 

Having been adopted at 7 years of age, she was then named 'Sooyeon by her foster parents. She found it hard adjusting to her new family that composed of only her, her foster mother and her foster father. After spending eight years with them, Sooyeon then starts opening herself up to them and accepting them as her parents but one tragic night had caused the life of Seungho, her adoptive father. And ever since the incident, Solgi had been much less of a mother than she already was to Sooyeon for the next 2 years. Sooyeon has secretly forgiven Solgi countless times with every slap and kick she would throw at her, because she couldn't begin to imagine the pain of losing the one that had your heart.

Sooyeon was held back a grade during primary (elementary) because her grades were so bad and because of this, she has changed her study habits and mindset to be more focused on her education. In school, she is seen as the tough and independent leader and president everyone looks up to and admires. Even though she is unapproachable and a rather intimidating being, most people still look up to her like the role model that she is to them. The students say her leadership are truly one of a kind and her knowledge and brains were not to be taken lightly. Being the top 1 in all of her school, Sooyeon not only wants to graduate as the valedictorian, but graduates with light shoulders as she fulfills all the expectations everyone has for her. And because of her determined will to strive for nothing but success, she is not going to let anything  or even anyone stand in her way.
