Advice pleasee

Soooo i really want to start making some of my own graphic arts and stuff like making gifs and cool designs but I don't really know what software to use and how to do it. I'm hoping I could do these type of things as my stress reliever and it'd be really fun for me haha Any advice or tips? It would be greatly appreciated :)

and one more, graphic designing can be stressful instead of relieving stress because the outcome might not as what you expected though ^^;

use the latest GIMP or photoshop ^^ I use Photoshop CS5, but I recommend you to use the latest one CS6. If you need to know how to use it,you can visit InDesign in Aff ^^.
