People are overreacting; they're gonna ask permission, and they won't risk offending the vast numbers of their viewers who do read fanfiction.

EYK can be overboard, it seems like they're literally bashing rather than reviewing. But probably the most popular will get this, instead of unknown authors. So, don't lock it up if you're not even that famous.

I think the main question here is also how S&M are going to earn from it whilst the authors get nothing. The authors invest a lot of time and effort into writing the fanfic and it's not like any of them are paid for this. On the other hand, videos are S&M's life and they do make money off making vids for YouTube. If they're asking for fanfic recommendations, they are surely make a video (skit or review etc) which they are going to earn from -- and it's not like they will share the profit with the authors..?

Why exactly do people want to send it to eyk!? Are they going to read it?? Well if they are going too , im surely going to send mine!

I already heard about this. And I heard that they'll do a review of fanfiction culture.
I'm an author, and I don't care about this. Cuz I believe in my fanfic, even though there are so many mistake in it. But I already try.
And if many author didn't like being recommended then don't write, it was mean that they're don't believe in their fanfic. Some would say that critic can be a reason for more better
And if someone said that 'fanfic in aff just only for aff family' then if EYK write an acc in here they will be a part of our family too, and we can't stop them
And if they're bashing then let them be, keep moving on and left them behind
We can show them what is aff family power

because most of authors in here are so used to the constant praise .. the excuse would always be 'its all part of the fandom blablabla'
i dont think so .. if you decide to write works which are fanfics, you constantly become an amateur writer
you have a responsibility of the quality of your fanfics, and getting criticism is part of life
if you are afraid of criticism, then you probably dont spend your time enough for your fanfics quality
instead of thinking this as an offensive act from EYK, i think of this as their way to troll us by making such a commotion, i even got my own plan to troll them back instead of going all crazy deleting or locking down my fics
people just needs to be more open minded

I just think the whole recommendation thing was random and as an author I don't care because my stories aren't very popular enough to be noticed and recommended, but as a reader I hate seeing a lot of people blocking their stories and deleting their accounts. It just makes everything inconvenient.

I've locked mine because I'm not exactly very comfortable with my fics being criticized - insulted - when I've worked on each one of them so hard. Not that I'm not open with criticism, I yearn for it even, but EYK had just gone downhill lately and their critics usually sound more of an insult and I dont think I'd want that from them not do any of the other writers that had also locked/deleted their posts. It's very understandable and bothersome at the same time since I'm both an author and an avid reader but words and plotlines just dont pop out of nowhere. For us writers our stories are like our children. We're usually overprotective as and just one sign of danger, we'll flip.

I agree with most of the comments. I just feel like they're gonna criticize them too much. I know people are allowed to have their own opinions but as a writer I wouldn't want someone bashing my hard work. P.S I'm still upset about the BAP and BTOB music monday bashing

I wouldn't want my fics anywhere near EYK bc really who are they to critique fics? Their heads are so far up their asses that they think they have some kind of power and right to just be disrespectful to hard work.

Most people believe EYK are going to review/critique/bash their stories so they're just hiding them from them. I personally don't care one way or the other. If they want to use my stories, I'd be honored.

im not really an author though i have started one fic but i stopped writing it. but if i was an author i would actually be so happy if someone linked it to eyk bc for one it means that its actually good and also it would get more popular right? and besides its already on the internet which is the worst place to post stuff if you dont want others to see it. im seeing all these blogs from authors saying they dont want their fics to be shared in other places but its the internet. regardless of whether or not its shared outside of the aff community it can still be viewed by everyone that has access to the internet and yes that includes eyk. so really, i think that an author locking away fics just bc they dont want eyk to make a video about it is rather stupid and the effect is just unhappy readers and unsubscriptions. also if any of those authors bothered to even read eyk's tweets, they even said they wont make a video from it without the author's permission. so everyone can now calm their and stop freaking out bc the world wont end if eyk reads your fic, okay?

Well for me it's because I only want my KPop fanfics to be written on AFF and not shared outside this community ^^; I don't hate EYK in the slightest, I just don't find them as funny and would prefer my readers to not send my fics to them. Chances of that happening are slim to none but you never know...it's happened before with me though: I've had my fics posted on sites dedicated to bad fanfics from my old account and had no idea until I recognized it was a screencap of my fanfic -__-

Probably sounds like a stupid reason to some but it's just how I feel is all.
