» PERSONALITY

Hyerin is always bubbly and happy, in general, she is very happy-go-lucky and outgoing. She's very sweet and her aegyo is very cute. Hyerin loves making new friends, though she is very shy if she doesn't really know you. She can be childish sometimes, always pranking and messing around with her elders. She does know when to stop being annoying though, and she will stop if she senses someone is actually angry with her. She loves cheering people up and making others happy, making someone else's day would make her day. She is constantly smiling and is very optimistic. She's also very confident but tries very hard not to be cocky and tries to be as modest as possible. She will get embarrassed if she gets too many compliments. She loves pranking and making jokes, and she loves to laugh, never getting upset too easily. She is the type of person to smile although she isn't feeling too well.

At first glance, you may think that Hyerin is a bit ditzy and she doesn't do too well in school. You also may think she is younger than she actually is. However, due to her strict parents and her determination, she graduated her high school with top honors and is very intelligent. However, she does usually speak before she thinks so sometimes she does actually seem ditzy. She doesn't always understand what is going on and she is extremely dense, more than a pile of bricks. Hyerin is usually lazy, which is probably due to her being the youngest and never really having responsibilities. However, if you provoke her (igniting her ambitious flame is kind of easy...), she will generally spark her ambitious flame. Once she has started she will not back down, this is due to she feels like she must do everything correctly. This is the problem solving side of her, and partly why she is so intelligent. Do not provoke her it is not the smartest thing to do... She may look delicate, but she is very strong and can hurt you if she doesn't like you. Luckily, she likes basically everyone. She finds the best of people and can never hold a grudge, remembering all the good things that person did for her.

Hyerin is extremely innocent, and was taught to be very conservative and polite. She is very shy when she meets someone for the first time. She is used to hiding behind her mother, brother, and sister when talking to people she has never met before, and now relies on her unni's to introduce her to new people. Although she seems delicate, she is actually quite strong. Her parents wanted her to take aikido, and signed her up when she was only five years old. It is a tradition in the Kang family to be in aikido, and all of the members of the Kang family are highly skilled in aikido, being able to defeat opponents with their own strength. They believe aikido is the most practical way to protect yourself, as you do not have to waste as much energy yourself when you thwart your foe with their own strength. She earned her black belt and can defend herself despite her outer image. She loves the fact that she is the maknae, yet she is one of the strongest, or if not, the strongest member of Ultimate Diamond. She also uses her 175 centimeters of height to shorter unnies. Hyerin is very trustworthy and she is one of the worst liars you can ever meet. She feels very guilty if she lies, and she doesn't lie very often because no one really believes her anyways. She is a people pleaser and basically likes everyone. If she doesn't like you, which is actually very very rare, that is a bad thing for you. She has actually only disliked two people in her entire life. 

Hyerin is one of the cutest people you'll ever meet. She actually hates being called cute, because she's a tsundere. She'll blush when people compliment her and tell her she is adorable. She won't use aegyo often, because of her shyness, but if she really really wants something, she unleashes her secret weapon. She loves sweets and cute things, though she worries she'll be teased, so only close people to her know about that. She's quite clumsy, it actually hurts sometimes. She tries to brush it off but she's such a dork and sometimes her unni's will giggle, while Hyerin blushes. Hyerin tries to come off cool and collected but usually she is just a dork. She also is a nerd and loves video games, because her brother and sister introduced her to gaming at an early age.

» Background

Hyerin comes from quite a well off family and she doesn't really have problems with money. She always complains that she was never spoiled, despite being the youngest in the family because her parents were very strict and refused to buy her things she wanted, but would always enlist her in sports, music, and tutoring. When Hyerin was little, she actually wanted to be an author, because she has a huge imagination and a passion for writing. Hyerin had an older brother and an older sister, both who were exceptionally clever and her sister became very successful. When her elder brother was supposed to set off for college, Hyerin remembers that her parents were very upset, because he dropped out of a prestigious university because he was scouted to be in the boy band, CNBlue. Hyerin's parents eventually saw how happy it made Minhyuk (her brother) and they allowed Hyerin to become a trainee when she was scouted too.

Both Minhyuk and Hyerin were scouted for their talents. Hyerin was scouted when she took a dancing class and the teacher found out she was really good. She loved dancing and went on to even more elite classes, working very hard to try to get constantly better. She knew she wanted to be a dancer. Hyerin worked exceptionally hard and eventually, her first ever teacher recommended her to Paradox Entertainment. Hyerin took drumming classes with her brother, she was good, though nowhere near the level of her brother. Her forte was more into playing guitar. (ooh music joke! forte! omfg i'm so lame lol sorry...)

Hyerin's elder sister, Yura, was very successful and was just a prodigy, shining even brighter than the rest of the Kang's, who were already all smart. She was a bit narcissistic due to that she was better than everyone else. Despite that, Yura was a very sweet sister and the inspiration in Hyerin's life. Yura kept Hyerin in line when she was growing up because her parents were quite busy most of the time. Hyerin became very polite and sweet due to this, and never experienced the rude and bratty teen stereotype. Hyerin is insanely gullible because she always trusts her sister and trusts most people. Yura, unlike Hyerin, was an excellent liar, though she didn't lie often because she had no need to and didn't want to set a bad example for Hyerin, another reason why Hyerin is a terrible liar. Yura would lie to Hyerin often, about very petty things and Hyerin would believe her everytime. This is probably why Hyerin listens to what everything people she knows says. Hyerin got the sly and cleverness that Yura had, usually incorporating that trait into her pranks.

Hyerin is very social and loves making friends because her mother is a social person. Her mother failed at making Yura social, Yura is an incredibly anti-social person, so Hyerin's mother would constantly take her out to places and encourage her to make friends. Hyerin is very very happy and a silly person due to her mother. She is also cute and unconsciously full of aegyo because of her mother. Hyerin is shy when she first meets someone because of her father.

» PERSONALITY

Myungsoo: Myungsoo may seem like he is more important than you, and that he could be cocky about it, Myungsoo is nothing like that. He is very sweet and caring, but always tries to convince people that he is calm, cool, and collected, overall, better than everyone else. However, he is nothing like this, he's very clumsy, constantly slipping and is quite the dork. He a shy person at first and but he shows his dorky side once you get to know him. He absolutely cannot keep still whenever he is excited. He is a passionate person and often is determined as much as Hyerin, he won't stop until he does something right. He's stubborn too, something he would like to fix, but can't really. He can be very laid-back and happy-go-lucky until someone provokes him or challenges him. He knows how to hold a grudge, and will if he has to.

Yook Sungjae: Sungjae is just a dork in general. He's an outgoing and hilarious person, and speaks isn't afraid to speak what's on his mind. He blurts out stupid things often, like Hyerin, and everyone usually laughs at him. He's a cute guy, and is constantly laughing and making everyone else laugh too, even if he didn't really intend to be laughed at. He loves fun and pranking and if Hyerin and Sungjae wouldn't be lovers, they would definitely be best friends. He's sweet and caring, and is a hopeless romantic. 

» INTERACTIONS

Myungsoo: Hyerin actually met Myungsoo when she was trying to get an internship at her sister's workplace, a broadcast studio. At the time, Hyerin's sister was pulled away to help with the Running Man episode being shot so Hyerin being the lost puppy she is, followed her sister. Myungsoo and Jonghyun (CNBlue; this is episode 129) came up to Hyerin, because Jonghyun recognized her as Minhyuk's little sister and came over to say hi, as she was looking quite out of place and he was just being nice. Hyerin had no problem talking to Jonghyun, but she didn't want to speak to Myungsoo because she was a bit too shy. Yura came over when she saw her little sister being a bit awkward and was the unni shield Hyerin was used to. Hyerin was greatly surprised when Myungsoo mentioned a famous photgrapher she was quite fond of, as most people aren't interested in photgraphy. She was even more greatly surprised when Myungsoo made a Pokemon reference, the coolest thing to her EVER. They got quite close because of their dorkiness and talked about nerdy things. Myungsoo often treats Hyerin like a little sister, putting his arm on her head so she is forced to squat a little (because she is quite tall, at 175 cm, though she hates it) She usually whines when he treats her this way, but she doesn't really mind too much. Myungsoo always teases Hyerin as well.

It was pretty obvious Hyerin liked Myungsoo after their first encounter, maybe just a little bit, but she still liked him, but Hyerin herself didn't really notice it. Yura told her, and a lot for being so stupid. Hyerin was scared that she liked Myungsoo when she found out because he was so good-looking and sweet, he was out of her league for sure. Plus he probably already had a girlfriend, but Hyerin wasn't completely sure. Hyerin would always become flustered when Myungsoo would be nice to her but she was a lot more outgoing and opened up completely to him.

Yook Sungjae: Sungjae is very sweet towards Hyerin, they are best friends. They always jokes and mess around with each other, while doing skinship, though it is never awkward, as they are fine with it. They have too many inside jokes to count and they complete each other by never failing to make each other laugh. They constantly tease each other and embarrass the other as much as possible, laughing it off in the end. They are exceptionally close and the bestest of friends (bestest is a word >.<)
