A special girl named Kim Taeyeon

Today, 25 years ago, on March 9, 1989, something amazing happened. In the city of Jeonju, South Korea, a little girl was born. Her name was...

Kim Tae-Yeon.

She didn't know it yet, but she would become the leader of one of the biggest girl groups in the world.

She was discovered in the 2004 SM Entertainment's 8th Annual Best Contest, winning the Best Singer 1st Place & Grand Award. She started training the same year.

Three years later, she debuted with eight other girls, in a group named "So Nyeo Shi Dae". She was apointed as the leader of the group because of being the oldest. It would mean so much more than that later on. She was given eight beautiful and talented sisters that we all know as Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun.

SNSD wouldn't be the same without Taeyeon's dorky attitude, her amazing voice, and her leader skills. I'm glad I've gotten to know all the different sides of this amazing girl.

Remember the first episode of "Girls Go To School", where Taeyeon was walking toward the DongHo Bridge? How she was saying

"It's just that now I'm going to be living with the others, I feel nervous and I'm a little worried.

Since I can't go to the ocean, I came here to the Han River to clear my mind and straighten my thoughts.

I can do it! I can do it! I can do it!"

Almost seven years later, she's the leader of an international group, has created an Instagram and YouTube account, and stolen so many Sone's hearts, including mine. I think we Sones can say that she has done it.

Happy 26th birthday, Taeyeon! You deserve it. <3
