just some background info stuff for my fanfic, your warm melody.

Chapter One - Middle C

• For those who don't play instruments/aren't familiar with music, middle C is the ~main~ note. It's the first note one learns when learning how to read music, and it is in the middle of the staff.  

• The school the kids attend is called "Chunsang Arts School". Chunsang means heaven/heavnely (i believe). Arts school generally refers to a school which has majors in drama, visual arts, and music. Here, the focus is on the music kids: applied music is like band instruments, vocal majors (self explanatory), piano majors (also) and strings majors (ie. violin, viola, cello). 
• The way I have set up their schedule is the way my friend's, who attends an arts school, is made. They have their regular academics, (ex. maths, history, geography, etc.), but their last period (4th period) class is their "major" class. For example, if they are an arts major, they will have art class last. 
  Here, for the strings major, they have "orchestra" last period. 

• Battle of the Bands is a schoolwide competition, happening once every 4 years. Groups are judged based on category and grade. Winners are nearly guranteed a spot in any arts university. 
  Strings major participate in quartets: 2 violins, 1 viola and 1 cello.

cello = cellists

I sometimes type violists when i mean violinists, and vice versa. Bear with me! T_T;;

OK, so in orchestras/symphonies and stuff, the seating arrangment is very important. To be first seat violin means being the best violin. It's a ranking, from first to last. Being last violin isn't necessarily humiliating, but in Ari's case, it is.
