My Journey to Seoul

... I made it to Seoul! It was pretty horrible getting here, to be honest. First, my flight from Phoenix to San Francisco was delayed by 45 minutes due to fog and stuff in SFO, which, whatever, I had a 3-hour layover anyway... but then my flight from SFO to Incheon was delayed by just as much (because the incoming plane was delayed, probably due the same reason as my first plane). The second flight took 12 hours; it was Singapore Airlines so the seats were really nice for coach/economy class (first class had like individual sleeping pods, omg ㅠㅠ) and they had individual television screens where you could watch whatever you want. I ended up watching this Korean movie "Secretly Greatly" which was pretty funny to start off then it was like holy hell depressing and death and . I also watched "The Heat" because my mom won't stop telling me how funny it is (it was alright) and "The Wolverine" because I'm a er for any and all X-Men films. The rest of the time was spent eating (gosh they gave us a lot of food) or failing at Candy Crush or trying to sleep. I have problems sometimes with my right knee due to a fall so it was kind of difficult to find a comfortable position for it. The guy in the middle seat next to me was rather large and encroached on my territory a bit; like his leg was touching mine over on my seat and I couldn't use that arm rest. I'm just glad he wasn't smelly.

So then we finally land and go through the immigration line where they stamp your passport. Well like three other planes got in at the same time and the lines took forever, seriously it had to have been at least an hour. I have no idea why because it took me like 30 seconds for them to get my fingerprints and then be on my way. So anyway by that time my flight number is no longer listed on the baggage claim board and I didn't know what carousel to go to. No biggie, I just wandered around a bit until I finally ask an employee where it's supposed to be. He tells me 11 so I go back over and it's not there. I wasn't thinking anyone stole my bag or anything, besides it was mostly clothes and toiletries (what I didn't have in my duffle or backpack), but I just wanted to get it and go, you know? Someone else told me to go to the Asiana desk because they take the leftover Singapore Airlines bags and I ended up going in the wrong direction >_< I don't have problems asking anyone for help even if I look like a (lol) so I asked another guy and he pointed me the right way; finally found the Asiana desk and almost wept tears of joy and relief when I saw my bag sitting there. Lady checks my claim ticket and I'm through customs and on my merry way once again.

Next order of business: renting a Wi-Fi egg (most useful things ever if you're traveling and don't have an international phone; plus you have a signal on the subway, yeah~). Cue asking at the Airport Information desk where to find an Olleh booth and the girl points to them like 20 feet behind her, lmao. Oh well, there was a pillar blocking my view and I was dead tired, leave me alone. Get that all set then it's time for the Airport Subway line. Reload my T-money card (metro card) and I'm sitting pretty for the next hour texting with my sister through Kakao Talk waiting to get into Hongdae Station in Seoul. From there I took Line 2 one stop to Sinchon, and bam I'm there. Except the exit I need has a staircase of doom leading up out of the station and I'm like this is gonna be hell. But then two super nice (and cute!) college-aged boys (Hongdae-Sinchon-Idae is a huge university area) took my suitcase up the stairs for me! I said "thank you" in Korean and gave little bows and they seemed surprised, lol. Cute.

I stopped into the 7-11 (yes there are 7-11s in Korea... I was shocked when I saw them last summer, haha) for a huge bottle of water then made my way to the apartment. It's super close to the station, so that's awesome! But it's up this like super awful hill. I had to get to building 13 and when I got like halfway I had to sit on someone's window box and take a break, lmao. Should have really worked out a bit beforehand (I'm gonna get so fit omg). Drank some water and got enough energy to make it to the building. Punched in the main door passcode and got it on the second try. Took the key from the mailbox and then it's time to climb another two flights of stairs to the second floor. I just left my big suitcase at the bottom and made two trips. Then, when I get to the room, I couldn't get the ing key to work. I was getting so frustrated and I even messaged the landlord (um I think he works as a PD somewhere, wonder if he can get me into music shows, haha) and he messaged me back right away but then I noticed this hidden-ish second lock (I say "ish" because it'd probably be really obvious to someone who was more awake, and there were two ing keys after all) and I finally get the door open. Of course it's dark because it's close to 11 at night by this point and I just kind of drag my over the threshhold AND TRIP OVER THIS STEP DOWN I DON'T NOTICE AND FALL ON BOTH OF MY KNEES. I'm shocked but pull myself up and find the light switch, close and lock the door and then just start crying. I was seriously having a panic attack and had to use my inhaler and hug my stuffed animals (yeahh I brought my teddy bear and my African wild dog...). I texted with my sister a bit more and I calmed down; knees hurt like a and body stiff from the plane ride and lack of sleep, I dig out my pajamas and take out my contacts and wash my face and brush my teeth. I was freezing when I went to bed at midnight but I woke up at 3 feeling warm; I think my body was so cold because I was feeling like .

Woke up again at around 8:30; the room gets nice natural sunlight! I'm feeling better now (except my shoulder is still sore) and the room is actually warm and the floors are heated! There are two twin beds so my sister has one for when she comes in two weeks, there's a nice sitting chair, shelves, kitchen, and bathroom. Right now I'm charging my phone; I'm gonna do down to Olive Young which is like kind of like CVS and pick up a few things then go to this store called Daiso, they have cheap things so I figure I can find a needle and thread there and also Febreeze (ya never know) and whatever else I want. I already have my route planned out, lol. Aaah, and the CGV movie theatre down here is where I went to the second A-Jax fan signing last summer! I miss those guys. Soooo after I go to those places I'm gonna go to Kyobo/Hottracks in Gwanghwamun to pick up the new B1A4 and B.A.P albums; I'm also on a mission to find Infinite's 'Over the Top' so wish my luck with that one. I'll eat lunch at the cafeteria there, then on the way back home stop at a grocery store and pick up some rice, gochujang (the red chili paste), instant coffee, and whatever else. I'm probably meeting up with Jake/Shinje tonight when he's done with work, but he probably just thinks he's getting laid and I don't really wanna go there again (lol..). I gained weight since last summer so I'm sure that'll ward him off a bit, haha. He's also supposedly getting married soon so who knows; poor girl.

Yeah anyway tomorrow and the next day are the B1A4 concerts!! I'm so excited for them! Then in two weeks of course is Infinite Returns!! I got super amazing tickets pit tickets for both nights. My sister's plane gets in while I'm there the first day haha but we're going to the second one together (I'm such a good sister, to be honest; too good). Then the week after that is the B.A.P concert! I got us each a ticket for one of the days. I really wanted Standing A but I settled for really good B tickets. And BTOB is having a comeback so I'm gonna have to make my album purchase during one of the fansign raffle days at whatever location; that'd be nice to get in! I'd be interested in C-Clown too for their comeback but I dunno much about them. Other than that I dunno what I'm gonna do; just see how it goes~ When my sister gets here we'll probably visit Cube Cafe and Infinite's family restaurants. (Yeah I'm being a total fangirl on this trip...) See how I can get into a taping of Immortal Song or whatever else... And visit some more parks and just explore~
