Sitting there on the bridge

Staring out across the water

Memories of us, playing through my mind

All the colors are faded just like an old movie

I whisper your name into the wind

As a single tear rolls down

How was I supposed to move on

When the only one I trust is with someone else?

You let me down, though I should have known

For what goes up, must come down

And I will admit I did fall pretty hard

But you were so sly in your facade

I didnt notice the edging to your mask

Everything about you was fake, a lie

But I was a foolish girl, how could I not believe?

"I'll never leave your side"

"I'll stay with you forever"

I guess forever is pretty short in your dictionary

But much like a flower can rebloom after a blizzard

My heart can become strong again

For now I shall shelter it and wait for another

Who is willing to endure the struggle

For me, who will no longer give in so easily....
