pandaKyung's Poster Tutorial for Beginner. Simple decent posters without using Photoshop ^^

Hey everyone ^0^ ! pandaKyung here~ Recently I started a new fic, " Killer Smile Snow White " which I have been making chapter posters for since it's a fairly short fic and I've been getting a lot of compliments and questions about the posters / how to make them and stuff. So since I myself am a beginner these posters are fairly simple and nice, I'm just making this to help other beginners like myself. Also I don't have Photoshop or anything fancy to edit picture, thus the posters are simple lol. So let's begin shall we?

Programs needed/used :

Microsoft Paint and Picnik.

Those are the only two things programs I use to make my posters. I don't have any of the fancy editing stuff like Photoshop so I use what I can.

~~~~
Step One - Get a picture.
You can find one off the internet or from your own picture folder. Or whatever just get a picture you want lol. Size is up to you. Also DO NOT get a picture with a background that is already white becuase you have to erase the background, but you can't do that if the background is already white. Well you can but it's hard. For this tutorial I'll be making a poster for my currently ' upcoming chapter' and my picture will be of Henry of Super Junior . So once you get your picture you paste it onto word like so : Try to find a fairly large and HD picture, if there's font try to make sure it isn't like right on their face or anything like that. It can be on like the edge or side or whatever like mine.
Step Two - Removing le background from picture.
Helpful  Tip~ You can make the eraser or just any tool on paint bigger by press Ctrl and the plus sign on the like calculator side of your keyboard. you're doing it right if you get something like this :
Then I usually get rid of most of the background like this :
Then you zoom in as much as you like, just do whatever is more comfortable for you like so : and I suggest using the paintbrush instead so you get a circle brush. Makes it easier to get rid of the remaining background that's closer to the thing( in this case Henry) you want. try to get rid of as much of it as you can but if you can't exactly get some part then try to make it small. Zoom out everyonce in a while to make sure it looks alright. In the end you should get something close to this :
Notice how there's still some of the background on some parts but it's very minimum. I got rid of the words that were on his shoulder too, but usually you can't do that. It was just easier because Henry's shirt was black.
Step 3 - Putting your finished picture on to a background.
I've already got my background for this ahead of time. Anyhow, then you copy out your picture -not cut- I repeat COPY :
The reason is because ( it didn't happen for this picture) sometimes you miss something when getting rid of the background and it shows up when you paste it on your background. So you copy your picture put it on your background and if it doesn't show up then cool. If it does, then go back as erase whatever is showing up.
See no random white stuff showing up around Henry. There's still some of te background but don't worry about it. Now you place it where ever you want it and what not.
Then save it, and then you can go ahead and close out paint after it's saved. Then go to picnik.
Step 4 - Editing
No more pictures lol. You can just mess around with all the effects and stuff until you're satified. I usually go in order (Basics, featured, effects, and text etc) If you're worried about th little bits of the background you couldn't get out, I usually just go to effect and use the 'focal soften' effect. Then have the focal just focus on the face. With the Seven Super Dwarves chapter poster however, since there was more than one face, I just messed around with some effects. Lol sorry I can't remember what I used >.< Just play around with the effects and see what happens. Afterwards, you should get a fairly decent poster like this : I make my posters ahead of time so I have them ready for when I update. But yeah, this is my tutorial on how I make my posters. If you have any questions feel free to ask. ^0^
@Riin-Chan Er I'm not good with computer terms lol. I think you mean the image location right? For me since I don't have a photobucket account or anything like that i just used my Facebook, uploaded my finished pictures there then got the link from the picture. Hope this helps ^^
