OH. MY. GOODNESS.

Okay guys, I know I don't write on my blog often but this is serious.

First, context.

So I have a huge thing for this rising trend in kpop right now of paying homage to the style/sound/feel of music from the 1920s-50s. I'm seeing it with Ladies' Code's "Bad Girl", Ailee's "You and I", Trouble Maker's "Attention" (kinda; that one is a mix of pop and 50s jazz), Spica's "Lonely" (again, only sort of. I get a very smooth jazzy feel from this one), TVXQ's "Something", and of course, IU's newest album concept was exactly that- to pay homage to the 20s (I highly recommend that album to anyone who is interested in listening to her).

Well now, there's a new song to add to that list and it's yet another Spica song. This time it's newest single, "You Don't Love Me".

AND HERE COMES THE SPAZZING.

I SWEAR TO GOD if Spica doesn't get popular off of this single, I don't know how much faith I have in some of these kpop fans guys. This song is beautiful and it really does what songs are supposed to do (usually): showcase their vocal abilities/talents. These girls can all sing and they all have very unique voices of their own. They have the whole range: powerful/y to docile/cutesy (though the cutesy-ness isn't as apparent in this song as in others). Still, the song is amazing~.

Now add the video onto that and you've got a girl group that is hella on point. That video is funny, y, and provocative (in the good way!) all wrapped in one. The video has vibrant colors with the girls dressed in classic 1950s dresses/skirts. The whole video screams y without trying to hard (This has proven to be a hard feat to accomplish by many girl groups that are coming back lately. No offense to any of these girls but to list a few groups that were trying to push boundaries but went overboard (in terms of music video): Gain's "Fxxk U" and Rainbow Blaxx's "Cha Cha Cha).

Anyway, Spica executed everything right in this and I will be so appalled if they don't get more recognition once this promotion cycle is over.

AND here is the video for your convenience: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc1RwpRfbT0

enjoy~ ^^
