My favourite songs of 2013

So after Sapphy posted her favourite 10 songs of 2013 both in 8tracks and AFF, I decided to do it too. I actually did a playlist containing my favourites at the 31st of December with 119 songs (hopefully you see how bad I am in deciding stuff I like too much), but thankfully I could narrow it to ten by remembering the songs I used to listen to a lot during 2013, so, yeah, here it is. Some good songs will not be here since I listened to them later or got into them in 2014 (like Crooked or Very Good). I'm going to be straightforward: This list is nothing surprising if you know me. It's a very biased list but since it's mine anyways I think that's okay. Keep that in mind when you're looking at this list, though, and don't ask me why is this song on the list and why is this song NOT on the list? and stuff.

Also it was kinda hard to pick ten anyways ok.

Let's start! From 10 to 1, here are my faves of 2013!

10: Shadow - f(x)

I like f(x) ever since Nu Abo and they've been improving ever since. I like the electric, experimental feel they always have with their songs. Sadly they don't get promoted much but maybe that's why my love for them is this big? So when I heard they came back, I was excited, and then they had this wonderful wonderful wonderful art film and this song. I actually thought that would be the title track, but it wasn't. I do like it more than Rum Pum Pum Pum, though. How do I put it - it has this dreamy feel, as if a fourteen year old talks about her first love and how she hides from her crush and everything. Do you understand what I mean? (Also Amber's singing is awesome.)

9: 24 hours - Sunmi

Here's the deal: When I heard she came back, I raised an eyebrow. When she actually came back, I downloaded the song but didn't listen to it. You'll see, that happens a lot of times to me. When this guy covered it (and I saw it months later), I decided to listen to it. And there was an instant jam. I like the song, the MV which is very artsy, and Sunmi looks really, really good here, and her voice is good as well. I hope she releases more songs like this in the future (and that Hakyeon covers that song as well)

8: Sistar19 - Gone Not Around Any Longer

I follow Sistar's songs since So Cool and love their songs ever since, although I used to hate So Cool. And although I really disliked Give It To Me, I loved Gone Not Around Any Longer. I liked Hyorin's One Way Love too but GNAAL has a different level. I love sensual, angsty songs in general so this song is exactly my cup of tea. It has a y feel without exaggerating too much, you see? Bora's voice is awesome and I wish she could've rapped more, or even sung. Anyways, that song was my jam for quite a long time, both the instrumental and vocalized version.

7: Seungri - Gotta Talk To U

I'm gonna be blunt, out of all solos Big Bang released this year I like this by far the most. Crooked is okay, Coup d'Etat is meh, Ringa Linga is ????, and Doom Dada simply weird. But this song, this song is awesome on many levels. It has this minimalistic feel and still manages to get its way to your ear. Seungri's voice is husky and fits the general mood of the song. The MV is okay, I like the city scenery a lot. So yeah, I'm gonna talk to you, hustlin' hustlin'.

6: Shinee - Dream Girl

SHINee actually came back thrice and had one Japanese release, but Dream Girl was the best in my opinion. It has this SHINee-feel, and is very electric. Why so serious and Everybody weren't my cup of tea, but this song is the exact definiton of awesomeness. Maybe I should complain about the choreography which wasn't really cool, but the MV is pure awesomeness and really, it's the best MV SM Entertainment ever did and believe me I watch their MVs ever since Wrong Number which is sure quite a while (spoiler: 2008) and did watch old ones (DBSK's in particular) as well. Sherlock, in 2012, was annoying at the beginning but stuck onto me, for example, but Dream Girl - I can't stop swooning over it.

5: Girl's Day - Female President

At first, I was negatively surprised because although the song's title is Female Preisdent, the song is about kissing and stuff. Ehh, really? But the song does stick onto you after a few listens and I'm glad. The choreography is awesome (especially Minah's second part) and the ladies look stunning, especially Sojin. I'm so glad they won with the song and I'm well Girl's Day still does well in 2014 by winning thrice with Something. They deserve it to the deepest! ;u;

4:  Nine Muses - Wild

really became a Mine during Gun, but I listened to them ever since Figaro (that was in 2011 and yes, no Sungah and Kyungri back then but with Hyuna!). It's honestly hard to choose since all of their songs are awesome and their releases were pretty good in 2014 but this was probably the one that sticked to me the most. I like the MV, the song, a very y concept and the red filter which reminded me of Sin City, and Kyungri slayed the whole MV. Overall the best song Nine Muses had so far.

3: EXO - Growl

I know, this was absolutely expected. But. Man. This. Song. Is. Awesome. I wasn't the greatest fan of Wolf (actually if anything then a great anti-fan of it) but this song got me the moment I listened to it. The camerawork was quite interesting to watch and I think the hype wasn't all that undeserved. They won fourteen times with it, if I'm not mistaken, which is a lot. But really, this song is flawless - from start to finish.

2: Infinite-H - Without You

Ain't no list without Infinite! More specifically, Infinite-H. To be quite honest, Man in Love was a disappointment (compared to The Chaser, it is.) and Destiny was simply "meh." But Without You was really good, one of my favourite songs overall. I like their raps, the MV which looks good (and with color filters oooh!) and Dongwoo's pink hair, the general mood of the song. Zion.T fitted really well in the song (as he was the one who wrote it, if I'm not wrong?) and overall a song that stuck onto me for a long, long time.

1: VIXX - Because The Answer Is You (Only U)

Was this expected? It was. A lot. Did I have a hard time not to include Hyde, Voodoo Doll and On and On? Yes. A lot. Is Hanna here and is she laughing? I hope so! So basically, all of VIXX' songs this year were awesome. In January On and On, in May Hyde, in August we had G.R.8.U and in November Voodoo Doll. But before Voodoo Doll, there was this song, Only U or in the Korean title Because the Answer is You. At first, I just liked the song with the guitar and their nice voices. But after the MV, I ended up squealing and crying and (internally) yelling THESE BOYS ARE MY FAVOURITE BOYS when  I was still an Inspirit. That MV was basically for me a sign that I've become a Starlight. I'm really, really glad that I've become a Starlight, really. I do like Infinite, though, and Sungyeol is still my absolute favourite Korean idol, but VIXX - VIXX is something else, definitely. And I am very well aware that Hyde or On and On or Voodoo Doll are the better songs. I know. But this song - this song is simply perfect in my opinion.

I think that's about it! I highly encourage you to make your Top 10 of Kpop, as well! ♥ You can listen to the full mix here!
