» PERSONALITY

Looking fresh-faced, many are surprised when Yeji reveals that she is actually a 91-liner. Being part of SM's notorious baby-faced elders, she has a bright and cheerful personality which earned her persona, 'Sun Princess.' Almost always smiling, Yeji is the type of person to laugh at almost any joke, being rather known for her somewhat obnoxiously loud, uncontrollable fits of laughter. Energetic and full of life, she is truly a happy virus because of how she is able to light up a room with a single giggle or compliment. She is someone who enjoys life to fullest, and is thus quite the daredevil, as well as a person who does not like to dwell on sadness. Rarely angry or disappointed, Yeji pushes away negative thoughts quickly and always tries to keep a smile on her face. She has never-ending optimism and excitement so that whenever you are around her, you are guaranteed to forget your worries and just smile.

But of course, Yeji has flaws too. For one thing, many find her happy-go-lucky and carefree personality extremely fake. She'd be an idol with many an anti-fan, probably because they'd deem it impossible for such a girl to be energetic and cheerful 24/7 without faking it. Though that's not the case; Yeji is purely a simple and straightforward person who prefers to be happy rather than sad. Because of this, she does have trouble dealing with negative emotions, meaning that she has difficulty expressing herself when angry or discomforted. She is the type to bottle up all of her negative emotions, which is rather unhealthy, and it also gives her no backbone (meaning she can't stand up for herself when she feels upset or is being wronged).

Yeji also has a mother-hen side to her that is fiercely prominent around her other members. Of course, despite being an energetic and sunny vitamin, her personality is true to her age. She's that one member who goes around fixing the hair and straightening out the jackets of the other members, the one who likes to cook lunch for them everyday, and who offers to be a shoulder for them to cry on. Perhaps it's from Yeji's own experience of being the only daughter in her family, but the girl is extremely motherly toward those she sees as kin. Though she might not show her love for her members through skinship or constant aegyo (which makes her very awkward), it is obvious she cares about her dongsaengs when you see her baking them a cake on their birthday or bringing them cups of soup when they're sick but are still forced to keep practicing. Toward Yeji's own Rays she is just as caring, and tweets them good night and good morning every day through her twitter account.

(She also has antis because she doesn't manage her weight well. Of course she isn't overweight, but her body type is not as ideally thin as other idols because she likes to eat cake~)

» Background

Kang Yeji was born on March 27th, with three older brothers aged 3, 5, and 9 years old. Her parents disagreed often and got into big arguements that would scare the children and affect the family as a whole, so eventually, seven years after Yeji's birth, her parents got divorced. The four children stayed in the apartment with their mother, while their father left and moved to America to further his career. However they were significantly poorer now that they had lost the family's main source of income. Yeji's mother was now constantly working and the family was very stingy with money. Besides food and clothes, they couldn't really afford to buy much else with four children. Though Yeji was bothered by how she couldn't afford to buy expensive clothes or a new phone, she tried to be cheerful as the only daughter of the family.

Of course not being able to afford videogames and dolls did leave Yeji with a lot of spare time on her hands. In her free time she (along with one of her brothers) would look up dance routines on the family's old shared computer and attempt to copy them and learn them. Dancing (and sewing) took up almost all of Yeji's free time. When she was fourteen years old, Yeji and her brother were encouraged fiercely by their mother to audition for SM Ent. while the family took a vacation in Seoul to visit their cousins. Interested at the thought of having a job where she could dance for as long as she wanted, Yeji auditioned for SM Entertainment with her brother and both were accepted as trainees.

Since then, Yeji has sharpened up on her dancing skills with professional help and has also recieved vocal lessons so that she can be a more well-rounded idol. When she was sixteen years old, her brother dropped out of SM Entertainment and joined a dance crew instead.

LOVE RELATIONSHIP PERSONA: The Dorky Ulzzang
LOVE INTEREST: Kim Himchan
BACKUP: Lee Kiseop
» PERSONALITY

Himchan may seem like B.A.P's flawless ulzzang, but it's obvious when watching backstage videos that he's nothing more than a dork. He loves skinship between the younger members (especially Zelo), but also becomes easily annoyed when they refuse (which is pretty much all the time). With his funny aegyo and unique facial expressions, it's a wonder he isn't more popular amongst the members. He is the self-proclaimed 'umma' of the group and thus nags the members the most and seems to be the basis for most of their jokes. Even his dongsaengs think that he can be immature and a little too loud and energetic at times. Yet despite all their teasing it's obvious they care about him as their second oldest hyung of the group. He is an extrovert, whose friendly personality and jokes allow even the most laidback and shy to warm up to him.

On the outside Himchan appears to be a very outgoing and energetic person with a strong personality. He gets irritated easily (but usually in a joking way) and is bluntly honest, scolding his dongsaengs and teasing them whenever he can. His somewhat childish personality makes him seem even less mature than the maknae sometimes, as he complains and nags a lot, and shows his emotions very easily. Though there is an immature, joking side to Himchan, his hyung-side is more subtle. Though the visual of the group, Himchan is actually pretty modest and lets his dongsaengs take away attention from him, just because he cares about them. Also though not obvious at first, he is also rather sensitive and he becomes jealous and hurt easily. This is usually when his hyung-side shows, because even though sometimes the teasing of the younger members hurt his feelings, he still smiles and laughs along because they're having fun.

In short, though Kim Himchan may seem like a childish, energetic, sometimes vain or insensitive kind of guy, he is actually rather modest and compromising, and someone who does things with the best intentions in mind.

(Omg sorry if this was so long and maybe confusing. It's just that I find that Himchan actually has a kind of interesting personality..? I'm probably making his personality way more complex than it actually is, but he seems like one of those idols who has a completely different exterior and interior, which is really interesting)

» INTERACTIONS

Truth is, aside from the occasional music program or awards show, Himchan and Yeji have actually never talked to eachother. Their main relationship stems from trainee-Yeji's admiration of B.A.P. (of whom she bought a lot of merchandise from) and her bias, Himchan, who her friends would often about. Of course, once Yeji became an idol, she had to sell most of her Himchan photocards for fear of some sort of scandal, but she still stated him as her ideal type in any interviews that asked her (which nowadays, are most interviews). Yeji's friends (and maybe her dongsaengs..?) at least want her to meet the idol she has fawned over during her trainee days, but Yeji herself is reluctant to meet Himchan because she thinks it'll be awkward. Afterall, how would you feel meeting a random girl who claims you're their dream guy? Her main fear is that he wouldn't even like her or find her attractive in the first place, afterall Himchan is known for making some pretty blunt comments.

Will Yeji ever meet Himchan in a situation that isn't awkward or completely embarrassing? Will Himchan even like Yeji and want to be friends with her? It seems like only time will tell.

COMMENTS: When it came to dancing and singing twins I tried my best to make Yeji good enough but not overpowered, though I'm afraid I might have ended up making her a bit underpowered, too. (Also it's fine if Yeji ends up as that one member who barely has lines or doesn't get much attention, I actually have a soft spot for members who lack lines in songs, hahaha)
SUGGESTIONS: Mmm... I was reading through some other applications suggestions and I really liked the idea of JuniTV! Or perhaps if Yeji and her love interest ended up on We Got Married (or something shorter like Running Man is fine. Heck, they can even just both be MC's for the same music show together)?
SCENE REQUEST: Unless you want me to add any scene suggestions, I'll let you decide what to put and where. I'm sure juggling the scene requests of others is going to be a bit hard, so unless you want me to put a scene request, you can decide the scenes with my chara~
