Hello friends!

As some of you may know, last year I held an Anniversary Competition for kfanfiction’s one year anniversary. This December, kfanfiction turned two years old. In regards to that, I decided to start an annual writing competition to commemorate not only kfanfiction’s success over the quick course of two years, but also to thank you, my readers, for encouraging me to write, learn, and teach. 

This competition is a celebration for you fanfic writers out there who want your voice to be heard! You aided me immensely during my short fanfic writing career. I want to return the favor and do the same for the winner of kfanfiction’s first annual writing competition!

Requirements:

1. Since this contest is an exclusive privilege for kfanfiction’s readers, applicants must be a follower/subscriber of kfanfiction on AFF/Tumblr/LiveJournal in order to be eligible for the competition.
2. Applicants must post their written entry for the competition on their Tumblr, LiveJournal, or AFF page.
3. Applicants must submit written entry as a link in kfanfiction’s Tumblr Inbox of kfanfiction’s AFF inbox.
4. Applicants must include their name (nickname, real first name, or name they would prefer to be called) along with their submission.
5. Applicants must mention from which country they reside. City/town does not need to be specified.
6. Only one entry per applicant allowed.
7. Written entries should not exceed three chapters. If exceeded, submission is void. 
8. Written entries that include will be voided. 
9. Written entries that include plagiarism will be voided.
10. Please specify in the beginning or end of your story that your composition is related to kfanfiction’s first annual writing competition. 

Details:

Applicants can choose from one of the following three topics for their written entry:

1. Write a story with kfanfiction as the main protagonist. If choosing this option, kfanfiction’s name will be “Kana”. The story can be any type of genre, can be in any kind of setting, and must include at least one Korean idol.
2. Write a side-story for any of kfanfiction’s fics that began in 2013 (This includes Cupid’s Match, Double-Edged, and When Shadows Fall). The applicant must choose one side character from one of the original fics and explore their world before, after, or during that fic’s setting. Side characters would include Lange, Seya, Suho, Bora, Nam, Han, Chen, the Tender, Nana, or Chaeri. (Nana and Chaeri are actually main characters in WSF, but to provide room for choice, I have included them here.)
3. Choose one of kfanfiction’s featured stories (Silver Heart or Bad Boy) and flip the roles between the two main characters. For Silver Heart, Emer is the robot and Luhan is the human. For Bad Boy, Kai is the ‘good school boy’ while the OC, whose name you can decide, is the trouble maker. Your plot cannot be an exact replica of kfanfiction’s original fic. 

Prizes:

1. Winner will receive a recurring promotion to approximately 15,000 readers/subscribers/followers on Tumblr, AFF, and Twitter. This is why having an active and valid Tumblr/AFF/LiveJournal page is important. I cannot promote you if there is nothing to promote.
2. All entries will be mentioned, although not actively promoted, in a post. 
3. Winner will make an appearance in an ongoing or future fanfic with his or her chosen name. (Ongoing: Double-Edged and When Shadows Fall. Future: The Scientist, a Silver Heart sequel.)
4. If winner resides in the US, the winner will receive a personal letter from me and possibly a kpop-merch related surprise.
5. You have until February 4 to submit your entries. Since this will continue into the spring semester, I will take a maximum of two weeks to read and judge over the entries. This means that the results will be announced on February 18 at the latest.
