☆ Personality: The one thing that's pretty obvious when you first see Riri is that she is not the most delicate thing in the world. She's highly competitive and lives for contact sports. But usually, Korean schools don't have a contact sports team for girls, so Riri plays alot of street sports. She's very blunt and has a tendency to come off as rude, though she's not. Her humour is absolutely dry and it often causes many to laugh and wonder whether she's serious or not. On camera, she's cool and charismatic, but away from the public eye, she's always the first to let loose and break out the booze. Many think she can't do aegyo because she's too intimidating looking but if she sets her mind to something, she can do it. Even though she looks and acts very boyish, Riri actually loves clothes and makeup. If someone asked her what she dreamed most about, it'd be food and fluffy kitties. If someone makes fun of her or threatens her, she goes straight to physical violence instead of using her words. She likes violence and RPG videogames. ☂ Background information.

☆ Background:  Riri was the only child in her family, and she was spoiled quite a bit. Her parents moved from place to place quite often because her father was an English teacher. They lived in Hong Kong and Taiwan for a while, so that's how she's able to speak Mandarin, English and Cantonese. Her mother is a seamstress. Riri was a rambunctious child that wandered everywhere. She wasn't problematic and her home life was pretty good, except for the fact that she was constantly on the move.

Riri was considered the bully on the playground. She only hung around guys and she picked fights alot because her temper was so damn short. She got suspended constantly and was always in trouble for something or another. When she was in middle school, she started to hang out with girls and get used to a more feminine side of her. She still kept her boyish attitude, but she stopped fighting. Guys now saw her as a girl, rather than one of them. When she got into sports like basketball, hockey, soccer, volleyball and rugby in high school, she stopped being trouble all together. She also started really focusing on her studies because if she didn't do well, she couldn't play sports. She could only play basketball, soccer and volleyball in school. On the street, she played football, rugby and hockey.

She was living in Hong Kong when she got involved in their street society after she went out wandering the area that day and saw a dance battle. She befriended street performers and dancers and just about anyone. They taught her to dance, sing, rap and beatbox. During dance battles, she would usually provide the beats. An SM scout was watching one of the battles that she was at and recommended her to audition for SME. When she told her parents, they were thrilled, because they were originally from Korea and they know all about SME. She auditioned globally and after a long, long process, she was accepted into SM as a trainee. Her family relocated to Seoul and she's been training for 3 years.
