why i love Jay Park

Jay, for me, screwed up my bias list. He was the very first kpop idol I fell in love with, after I found out that Rain was originally a kpop star himself (and not just an actor from Speed Racer). I was really disappointed when I had found out the news about him leaving 2PM. Although, I had discovered Jay after his official departure in early 2010. I was on YouTube going through suggested videos when I saw his cover for 'Nothin' on You (Count on Me)' cover come up. Soon afterwards, I delved deeper into the kpop world, discovering the Big Three (YG, SM, and JYP Entertainment) as well as their biggest bands to date.

I had subscribed to his channel in early 2011 after I had found out that he had posted more covers, not just the one I happened to stumble upon by accident. The MySpace controvercy, was taken out of hand but I'm happy that he handled it the way he did. He even admitted that what he did was immature and he did apologize. Reading further into the past, I think he made a good choice by not taking JYP's offer and coming back. By leaving he just made his oppertunity of being a big star, like he is now, bigger.

During his return to America, he did a lot of collaborations. I love J. Reyez and I loved him even more when I had found out that J. Reyez's solo 'Maybe One Day' turned into a duet with Jay. Jay is an amazing rapper to writes from the heart. I don't exactly agree with his use of English, seeing as how I'm a grammar freak, but his writing is organic and you don't see that too often. None of his words are glamorized, a major turn on especially when you go from the top to the bottom because of a single mistake that was misinterpreted. He also did a giant collaboration with DFD and a few others on a song 'Catch Me if You Can'.

Acting is something Jay might want to look into beyond the work that he has done now already. While he was in California he did a short with Wong Fu Productions and Ryan Higa called 'Bromance' soon after he returned through YouTube. Public speaking on the other hand is something that he can improve on. When he went to Rutgers in New Jersey he had a habit of using 'um' and 'uh' but the fans loved it. I would've barely known that AOM was with there with him if he hadn't kept them all involved. From what I've heard he is either in or has been casted for a movie 'Hype Nation' along with one other professionaly done production that is available in South Korea.

From the moment he was in 2PM to the moment he left, to now even, he has always been a good leader. You could see that he had concern for each of his band mates and crew members. At first I assumed that Jay was the oldest member of 2PM but I was wrong. Junsu is the oldest of the 2PM guys. Obviously, JYP wouldn't have made Jay the leader if they hadn't seen a lot of potential in him. He was the most energetic out of all of 2PM and after he left it seemed that the childish image Jay brought to the table is gone along with him as well. The other guys can pull off stunts but not in the same way that Jay could. When he did stunts, it seemed more natural because he had been with AOM already at the time he was added to 2PM in 2008.

When 2PM won, I think it was their first award, for 'Again and Again' I almost cried. Especially when they preformed it without Jay and left the spotlight open for him. I thought it was extremely sad how they did that, but I was also very happy that they had enough respect towards their former leader to do that. Also, when they released their album '1:59PM' I was touched by the reasoning behind it. I doubt they'll ever be the same 2PM without Jay but they've made it this far and are still doing very well. Jay, despite all of this, he's still gone through a lot of trouble to wish his old friends luck in what they do. It's really admirable because even though they wanted him to come back, the way it was offered was wrong. JYP would have only accepted Jay back if he had toned down his personality because it was that that had gotten him in trouble in the first place. If he hadn't left then he wouldn't be able to smile on stage like he does now.

He may be an idol but he's so down to earth. He's probably the biggest 2NE1 fanboy out there. I love his personality because it's playful but you can also see that he has a serious side to him. The way he acts on stage is amazing. You see him as some Seattle b-boy turning into a South Korean pop artist. I feel bad that he hasn't won too many awards yet but I am happy that he has been enjoying himself lately. Plus, his are the only Tweets that I can understand because he posts them (mostly) in English. I felt bad though when Kevin Wu (Kev Jumba) Tweeted a while back that he didn't know any kpop idols. Poor Jay. He even replied to Kev's Tweet pretending to be completely offended and sad. But if you know his true persona, he's nothing like the type to get upset over something small like that. It just proves that he acts like any other guy and not some ignorant celebrity.

Since he's returned to South Korea, he's gotten a lot of bad feedback. One thing is definately towards his tattoos. It's not like he gets random ones all over his body because he thinks they're cool. They have meaning behind them. He has only responded to this once, which is good. People comment on what he does and it's unfair. He's an idol, he has thousands of people looking and judging him. It's not right to point fingers and ridicule unlesss you have felt what it's like to be in the heat. Jay may curse a lot but that's just how he is. If you don't like to hear 'vulgar', language don't listen to him. I was so mad when his YouTube account was disabled that I almost threw a fit. Now that he has another one, I'm a bit happier.

As much as I hate to say it, him planking looks cool. Although it looks like it hurts when your face is facing a bunch of ramen boxes. I was hoping that Jay would be sensible and not plank ... but obviously he had other things in mind when he did. Even allkpop posted about him planking. The good thing about that is that it means he hasn't lost his playful personality even with all the newfound stress and weight on his shoulders now that's he back to being an idol.

Jay is my official second top bias. I love that he's multi talented and has made the big comeback recently in 2011. It's sad that he returned to South Korea and isn't in Seattle as often but he's smiling much more nowadays. He's been working with Prepix as well as AOM. Sidius HQ has signed a great artist and I hope that he reaches his full potential soon. I wasn't one of the people who voted on his offical fan club name but I can say that I'm proud to be a Jaywalker. Somehow, I can magage to say that all I want for Christmas is Yong Junhyung.

@ Key_tea114: sadly, that's how he has to act nowadays. he's not necessarily more reserved but more like toning it down

My second overall bias. <3

He's that guy that you can seriously meet up in person when you accidentally bump into someone. I feel like he's gotten a bit more reserved and quiet lately when he came back to Korea...:/
