now lemme tell you guys a thing; gyuyeol is everyone's secret otp whether they know it or not and whether they actually like it or not.

seriously, im gonna break down gyuyeol for you all so you can hop aboard this lovely ship. because this ship probably came to me easier than wooyeol and myungyeol did which makes pretty much no sense but whatever.

also, warning - long long long blog post with pics and gifs too.

firstly, before i started shipping them, i kind of had the impression that sunggyu didnt even really like sungyeol lol or that they were just bros, and not even close bros. just casual friends and such, but then i saw this video and my view on life as we know it changed. to me, sunggyu is probably one of the very few people in kpop who actually put their role as leader to use. honestly, some people make being appointed leader look useless .-. but sunggyu does not, he completely takes authority from it and anyone who's watched any shows with infinite can see that. not only is he the high strung leader though, he's the supportive and understanding hyung the group needs - what i fail to see most leaders do. anyways, back to the video, it really showcases that side of gyu, he literally reassures sungyeol multiple times and supports him with a smile to sing. that just really got to me, because like i said, ive always felt like gyu and yeol weren't particularily close. but that video clearly shows it, that sunggyu is an amazing leader and that sungyeol relies on him for that. god, you guys have no idea how happy that video makes me and how much i love both sungyeol and sunggyu in it (sorry namu). sungyeol has a few obvious insecurities about his singing and it breaks my heart knowing that and the fact that he even needs the reassurance from gyu, but good lord that same fact is what makes me think sungyeol puts a lot of faith and trust into gyu. that he knows gyu is the one that can make him feel better and that gyu is the one who will let him know he's okay. he doesn't even so much as glance at namu, he only looks to gyu for that guidence. and gyu 100% gives it to him, the way he smiles and nods his head at sungyeol, as if he's saying, "you sound wonderful and you're doing a spectacular job, don't worry, you're fine." and when sungyeol gets that note wrong, he immediately turns to sunggyu who once again silently reassures him and it's like he's letting sungyeol know that even if it was a mistake, it was okay and he sounded good to sunggyu and that thought alone melts my heart ugh. sunggyu even cheers him on by yelling a 'woo!' and that's really cute, man.

sunggyu as a leader makes sure yeol is doing his job and staying focused. sunggyu as a hyung takes care of yeol and watches over him. sunggyu as a friend not only guides yeol but walks alongside with him. whether pure broship or actual ship, these two paired together is really something else and they're rare and hard to compile into fic because there's so much about them to analyze, but once you actually see how close and how understanding they are of each other, it can really tug your heartstings and make you feel so conflicted about your entire list of otps. they don't even have much skinship, which in my opinion makes the ship even better because it showcases that they are beyond physical contact; that the entity of their friendship is based off of the trust and faith they put in each other. i mentioned that yeol trusts gyu to correctly direct him but gyu just as much has trust in yeol. he believes in sungyeol to execute what is given to him and gyu has faith that sungyeol can do it and do it perfectly. they both have this unspoken bond and it really really makes you want to hear what they actually think about each other because they so very little get the chance to on camera. i adore this ship too much ;u; 

everyone should ship gyuyeol.

long story short, gyuyeol is a beautiful thing and have been around since debut days to now.
