The effect of advertising on AFF + Thanks

In case any of you are interested in the advertisement feature, some info about the traffic it generated for my story. I have no idea how this compares to other featured/advertised stories, so please let me know what your experience with advertisements are.

EXO 2030

Subscribers before ad: 845

Subscribers after ad: 2044

Views before ad: 8901

Views after ad: 20150

Upvotes before ad: 85

Upvotes after ad: 211.

All in all, I'd say the ad system is a pretty good way to get your story out there.

It's extremely flattering to see the number of subscribers rise with every hour. The best thing are still the comments though, and I am so happy to see that EXO 2030 has a lot of people thinking about the band and sharing those thoughts. Almost no one settled for just 'please update', and everyone has been so generous with their feedback. I can't stress enough how important that is to me. Thank you everyone, for your support.

Now I just want to hide in bed and never come out because holy crap, so much pressure for the next chapter. This better be good.

My friend told me advertising costs about 9000-15000 karma -- how much did it take you? I actually want to advertise, but I'm far from having enough.

/pats you/ first of all, congratulations! although the ads do have some sort of selling power, your title, ideas and especially the description, must at least /appeal/ to the readers.

because there are people like me who generally ignore ads unless the stories seem interesting---

Congrats on getting more views for your story :D I think overall, the general ads do better than the M-rated ones, since the ads do pop up everywhere, but I saw your ad and I think your description was also really appealing.
