Personality: 

Jeon Junghwa is a very upbeat person and she loves to see the positive things in everyone. Her positive attitude can brighten up anyone's day, but not everyone can like her happy-go-lucky attitude. Not only does her postivie attitude make her easily approachable, anyone can become friends with Junghwa, because she can relate to anyone or at least try to. She tends to make friends easily because she's one of those people who start a conversion whenever it becomes awkward. Junghwa has a problem of over-comforting someone because when it comes to cheering someone up, she will go to the extreme, literally. She will bake for you, play the happiest music, buy ice cream, anything that can make you happy. Due to her umma-like instincts, she loves baking for the group members, but she gets mad when they don't clean after themselves or do their share of chores. One thing about Junghwa that confuses people is how she tends to seem lost or appear a little ditzy. It's not because she's not smart, it's just that her passion for baking and singing makes her get completely lost into a fantasy world when she gets into it. 

It takes a lot to get Junghwa upset, but when someone does get her upset, she explodes. She can give a long lecture like a true mother and it tends to make people feel bad. What makes it worst is that once Junghwa is done with her lecture, she begins to feel bad and tries to apologize to whoever she yelled at since Junghwa can never stay mad at anyone for a long time. One of Junghwa's activities that she does when she's mad is clean to the extreme. In order to calm down, Junghwa cleans the entire dorm until it's spotless and even though the other members don't mind a clean dorm, they would prefer if Junghwa would clean when she wasn't upset. Luckily, whoever gets Junghwa mad is in luck, because she tends to forgive whoever she's mad at in a heartbeat. 

While on variety shows or interviews, Junghwa is also one to stand up for her members if they're being attacked with harsh comments or questions, because that's what an umma does. She stands her ground if people try to bully her or her members and tells them straight up if she doesn't like them or not. Even if she's forgiving it doesn't mean she'll still like the person, anyone who harms anyone close to Junghwa is an enemy to her, but with her cute appearance no one can actually take her seriously. 

Background:

Junghwa was born in Busan, South Korea, but moved to Seoul when she was two, so she never had the chance to get the Busan accent everyone loves. While her father was a doctor, her mother was a piano teacher who taught at home, so Junghwa was always with her mother almost every moment of every day if she wasn't at school. Being an only child, Junghwa's parent gave her all the attention and everything Junghwa wanted, but that didn't make her spoiled. It made her realize how lucky she was to have parents that cared for her and loved her. However, when Junghwa turned 15, her parents divorced and it tore Junghwa apart. She thought it was her fault and she promised herself that anyone that entered her life, she would treat them with tender love and care, in hopes that they would always stay with her and be her friend.

 Junghwa mostly did ballet as a child, but one day at school she walked past the choir room and fell in love with how well people could harmonize together. Much to the dismay of her mother, who wanted Junghwa to be a ballet dancer, Junghwa started to sing, which is when she realized she loved it. 

When Junghwa turned 10, she was walking home from school, when she saw a tiny white siberian husky puppy by itself in the cold. Junghwa decided to take it home and with the approval of her parents, decided to keep the tiny puppy which she named her Bokshiri, which means fluffy. She had Bokshiri for six years until Bokshiri died and even though it deeply saddended Junghwa, she realized that she could still share her love with other animals and adopted another dog a tiny Samoyed puppy named Sunja. Her love for Bokshiri and now Sunja is the reason why she loves to help out at animal shelters and why her heart just breaks if she sees a mistreated animal.

How you met: When Junghwa was playing soccer by herself, she ran into Xiumin and Luhan. Luhan thought she was a middle school student, not knowing she was a trainee at SM and for looking so young, though she could say likewise. So Junghwa decided to make a bet with Luhan and told him that if she could make a goal past her, he would buy her bubble tea and he would apologize for calling her a middle school student. Luhan thought it would be impossible for Junghwa to do it, but when she did, he was easily impressed. After he bought her some bubble tea, they got to know each other and slowly began to fall in love. 

How you interect: Junghwa and Luhan are very touchy when they are alone, but when they are infront of everyone else they only act as if they are just label mates. Although Junghwa wants to have a public relationship with Luhan, she knows she can't because of all the saesung and non-saesung fans that would hate on her. Even with their relationship a secret, they are both very happy and always text each other cute messages.

Although Junghwa just saw Jonghyun as another one of her mother's students, Jonghyun fell in love with Junghwa for her innocence and how much she seemed to care about him. 

How you interact: Jonghyun will ask Junghwa to hang out with her sometimes and she'll accept, even though she only sees it as a hang out rather than a date. They will occassionally share a hug, but that's it, since Junghwa doesn't really want to mislead him into thinking she likes him. 

Why are they rivals?: Jonghyun doesn't like how Junghwa and Luhan have more in common than she does with him. He also thinks Luhan isn't good enough for Junghwa, because he thinks Luhan is only famous for his looks rather than his talent.
