Yeah. It's jst for if you have some potentially disturbing content in your story that may upset ppl/make them uncomfortable/isn't suited for everyone. Lol, i had been wondering what was going on with AFF that i couldn't see your updates. Good luck fixing everything!

When you are writing a story say about Self Harm, AFF is saying that you should put a trigger warning on your story. Say something like "This story contains mention of Self-infliction or self-mutilation" So if you have a problem with that or are doing it, please do not read the story as it may cause emotional damage. Also if this is happening please seek help.. That way you have warned the reader and protected AFF and yourself.

Now whether or not they stop and heed your warning, is entirely up to them. And also in some of the stories I've read some of the Authors always say "Once again if you are doing this to yourself or know someone that is, either seek help, talk to someone or have them talk to someone.

Don't know if they do or don't but what ever you're going to write the story on ie: Abuse, , Self Harm, or what ever genre that can be a trigger effect, then this is one of the ways you can write a trigger warning.

Hope this helps ^_^

In simple form, trigger warning means your fics containing some material that can trigger a trauma in someone. Mostly because of containing selfharm, suicide, ual abuse, and other things like that.

It's considered a type of spoiler.

"A warning placed in the title of an e-mail or post to let possible readers know that the content might trigger (or upset) them." (
http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:lChr... )

"Trigger Warning : Some fictions have themes that can trigger certain behaviors in others. These include self-injury, molestation, eating disorders, and . All fictions that contain these themes will have a trigger warning beforehand.?" ( http://fanfiction.mugglenet.com/tips-ter... )

History:
It's not completely clear but it seems to have arisen from the self-help mental illness community. The initial triggers warned about were things like PTSD, depression, or self-harm. There is also some evidence it may have come from the fact that flashing lights can trigger epilepsy.
