keeps her thoughts and emotions hidden/keeps her problems to herself: When she upset with something, she doesn't say anything or tell anyone. She simply endures it and moves along, which sometimes may not be good (because it builds up eventually) but that's the way Nara would like to keep it. Also, if she likes someone, she doesn't really show it. For instance, most girls would go up to their love interest and try to talk them up, however she doesn't do so, and usually steals glances across the room. An exception is when a boy DOES approach her and tries to chat her up, she turns bright pink and stutters. Her emotionless face happens to keep people away at first, though. Another exception is when she is happy, she shows it openly, smiling brightly. And people tend to like her smiling face better anyways c;

patient: When conflict arises between her and others, or just the others, she waits for them to cool down and talks back to them. Also, when waiting for her turn at something, she doesn't demand them to hurry up. People also tend to go to her for advice because they know that she'll hear them out the whole entire time, without interrupting, before talking to them.

calm, collected, and shy: Although she seems like she is very elegant because of her calm and collectedness, reality is that she's just shy and introverted. Contributing with the "keeps her thoughts and emotions hidden", she would rather not trouble people with her issues and worries. In other situations where people are either freaking out or breaking down, she knows what to do, solving their problem by her calmness. When it comes to guys, she has a very hard time approaching them, so she quietly, more like shyly, just stands to the side. When she is frustrated and wants to cry, she rarely does so, also contribute with the fact that she doesn't want to bother others with her feelings and problems.

stubborn/determined: She is very good at reading people's true meaning/intentions. So if they say that they're okay, but they really want to talk about it, she refuses to take "no" as an answer. She also refuses to budge from her opinions, and rarely wavers her thoughts about something. The stubborness also contributes to her determined mind, where once she sets her mind on something, she intends to go through with it. 

trustworthy and reliable: Maybe it's because she's quiet, but people tend to enjoy spilling their hearts and souls out to Nara. She does a good job of keeping things quiet, not telling anyone anything, and she is very apathetic, helping them because she feels what they feel.She's a neutral member, never taking sides, and always trying to keep everything in place, while being fair. Also, when it comes to favors, she's the one to go to because she always keeps her promises and carries out whatever people need her to do.

organized/perfectionist: This isn't necessarily a good thing in some terms. Usually it's good because she keeps things clean and tidies up her own area, however when the slightest thing is off to her, she gets bothered and feels the need to straighten it up right at that moment. Also, when it comes to dancing, and she is the one either choreographying or leading the dance, she is ruthless about practicing it until it's perfect. But I guess that's what makes her a good trainee. ^^

On broadcast/shows: she doesn't really act much different then she usually does except she tries to act and look a bit brighter, but is still soft-spoken.

Negative aspects: she doesn't smile much so people find her rather scary, and she is sometimes defiant (rebellious), which contributes to her stubborness.  If there is a situation in which she is right (and she usually is), then she makes sure that the people she's going against understand that. She also tends to have a negative mindset (believes she will never be good enough for anything), which causes her love interest to take care of her even more.

 

Background: (same as personality)

Nara's life growing up was actually a bit rough, financially, when the family first moved to Korea. At the time, Nara was only 6 and she was rather oblivious to the situation, but she understood that she couldn't get everything she wanted. It was harder on her older siblings, but nevertheless, the family struggled. Nara was made fun of a lot because she was not good at Korean and only spoke Japanese at first. However, through the help of the CEO of SM, an old family friend, they were able to get somewhere. SM's CEO helped Nara's mother find a place in Seoul to start her dancing academy as well as recruiting people to join. He also helped her father with finding the best hospitals that were in need of doctors.Nara generally started dance classes at a very young age (after all, her mom is a dance instructor). Her love for dance later led to learning instruments and taking vocal lessons just because she loved music. Her mom and dad were both very support of her dream, and understood that if she loved to do it, she could put everything in to accomplish  her goals. However, Nara did not get into SM by knowing the CEO. She actually had no idea that the CEO had any relations to her family until later. When she was about 15, she had auditioned for JYP but did not pass. She believed that she had no chances after that so for a short period of time, she gave up on her dream. A couple months later, she got over that when she attended a music concert and realized that she wanted to be up on the stage too. A couple years back, she was in a park with her brother, playing guitar and just hanging out when a SM recuiter person (-_-) heard her and asked if she was interested in auditioning. Eagerly, she said yes and brought it up to her parents. Immediately following, she auditioned and got in. It wasn't until she was to move into the trainee dorms when she learned the CEO's relation to her family.

Personality: Seokmin is extremely polite and sweet. No matter what. Even when he jokes around or teases, he's polite. He is generally a very fun person, trying to be pleasant and happy all the time. He isn't quiet like Nara, but is still a bit conservative (ahem.) He has a secret cute side to him that he tries not to show it, but he likes to pull it out sometimes just because it makes Narasmile. He is very bright and smiley, quite the opposite of Nara, actually, but that's what causes her to fall for him. He rarely ever gets angry or upset at something, and he is good at listening as well. Despite this, he can't help but feel jealous when he sees Soonyoung and Nara being close.
How you met: The two met through Soonyoung partially. Soonyoung had three tickets for Music Bank and he wanted to invite Nara and Jihoon, but Jihoon couldn't make it because he had his own schedules. So in place, Soonyoung brought  fellow member, Seokmin. Standing in line for many hours, the two were able to talk A LOT and get to know each other. At first, it had been very awkward, but with the push that Soonyoung gave, they were able to interact more, and they became close.
Interaction: Seokmin usually approaches Nara before she approaches him. The two get along very "cutely" where they have small talk and he sometimes teases her. He is constantly encouraging Nara, as well as ruffling her hair and telling her to smile. (which is why Nara thinks that he only sees her as a sister). Seokmin also enjoys to bother her in a way of acting cutesy, which makes Nara laugh. (That's how he likes it :D) and he also tends to get jealous by the way Haeun acts with Soonyoung. So if the two were talking and joking around, he tends to in and steal her away. He really likes skinship and tends to hug her and spin her around, or pat her back and show other small little gestures like that.

How you met: The two met because Nara is friends with Niel and has visited him to give him food and/or presents. Due to her constant showing, Changjo was drawn to her.
Interaction: She is generally quiet around him, but Changjo constantly bothers her and pokes with her, hoping that he'll get some kind of reaction.

Personality: She acts sweetly cute and very fake, when in reality she's a really dramatic person, causing everyone trouble and being flirtatious to every single person she meets. She's also very loud and obnoxious, which is everything Nara dislikes.
Why are you rival: At first Nara just patiently put up with her, but after a point in time, Hyewon began to realize that it bothered Nara and started to purposely be the way she is, to an extreme extent. Because of that Nara reallyyyyy dislikes her.
Interaction: Nara acts as "the bigger person",  ignoring the older girl's remarks and actions. Sometimes she says things under her breath, but when Hyewon is directly talking to her, she just pretends that she didn't hear a thing.

Trainee life: Trainee life was really hard for Haeun, because she came in the company almost the latest, training for only a year. She felt very awkward, as if the other trainees did not like her, but later she realized that it was a "her-problem", where the other trainees subconsiously caused her to feel disliked, because they were truthfully a bit scared of her quiet demeanor. She was very misunderstood as well, because if she didn't smile, she looked very upset. This caused her to get in trouble by the instructors. This also lead Nara to begin smiling more and the instructors later asked her why she always seemed unhappy, and she learned that she naturally doesn't look very happy. After those instances however, she was able to fully adapt to the trainee life, getting along with the fellow trainees and instructors as well. She is one of the most hard-working trainees because of this. She had to learn how to appear as a bright idol and, because of her later arrival compared to other members, she had to work even harder. She usually stays the latest at the practice halls, and gets there the earliest/.
