Personality: The simplest way to describe Stella is "cute", that's how she has always been described. Her personality: cute. Her facial expressions: cute. Her looks in general: cute. She used to hate it but now likes it. She doesn't try to be cute she just is, doesn't spend a lot of time doing aegyo but is always willing to break it out to get something she wants or to entertain others. She's kind and patient with others but naturally a fiery dynamite who is impatient for events or activities and easily impressed or to excite. Like a little kid in a lot of ways but can be serious if the situation calls for it, though it is hard for her to know if a situation is bad or not. She is cheerful and outgoing, will be the first to talk to someone and smiles almost always. She loves to tease others and joke around  but sometimes her jokes are taken seriously. Stella is the type to do just about anything to see someone smile or get a laugh and never minds being the target of a joke. She's also like a cat, as in her curiousity is very strong. Exploring new places and learning new things, sometimes though her curiousity will get her into trouble when she's off having an "adventure" when she is suppose to be on schedule.

 

Although she is bubbly and extremely sweet do not get her upset or angry! Stella has a temper and with her members instead of blowing up on them she freezes them out. She can go up to weeks without talking to someone, great practice comes from dealing with her parents, and Stella is stubborn enough to not relent— even if she has already forgiven you she will not say so first if you are the one in the wrong. She won't hesitate to tell you (once she's cooled down and is asked) what you did wrong though because Stella isn't one to get excessively angry/upset over little things and believes it is only right someone knows why they are in trouble with her, perhaps her real reasoning is that when she upsets someone else she doesn't always understand why they are not happy with her. Because of her pride it is hard for Stella to apologize, but when she knows what she did wrong she forces herself to swallow it and apologize as soon as she can because she doesn't like it when someone is upset with her; although, if she is wrong while the other person is wrong as well she can wait it out for a little bit of time before apologizing.

 

Stella is rather oblivious to a lot of things and the best way for her to get "your drift" is to be blunt, that's why she is very blunt. Don't ask for her opinion if you don't want an honest answer, though she can give pretty good advice if you ask for it— mostly people don't ask for it because she is so young. Stella often gets asked if she has ADHD or something because she has lots of energy and is very fidgety, she loves to get up and moving even if she is a little clumsy. Stella is not the best at speaking Korean, in fact her Chinese is probably just as good, and often will be tricked into using the wrong words by her brothers or unnies. 

 

Isn't particularly a cooking person but can bake very well, blame her gigantic sweet tooth, and cleaning wise you have to nag her to get it done. She complains about it but does an excellent job, while living with her brothers and father she learned how to be thorough. Is very independent and isn't a fan of someone prying into her thoughts so first if she doesn't want to talk about something she jokes her way from answering the actual questions hoping to lead the person away from talking about it but if they continue consciously to press the subject Stella will bluntly state that she won't discuss it in, to her, emotionless tone while to others, it is cold and very harsh.

•Says things that can be harsh but she doesn't understand why it is mean (believes the hard truth is better than a lie)

•Her curiousity (only counted as a flaw when she gets into trouble because of it)

•Sometimes bumps into others when they dance close to her, also needs dances to be instructed very slowly when first learning new ones

•Is a really heavy sleeper

•Has a small habit of biting people when they anger her instead of explaining why she's mad

•Sometimes overly talkative and forward that others are put off 

•Can really obsess over things like touching door handles (won't do it without using her sleeve because she doesn't want direct contact with the germs) or sitting in the same seat in the car both going to and coming from a destination [if she is not wearing long sleeves or someone refuses to give her the same seat she just quietly refuses to get into the car and stands there stubbornly pouting until they give in, also refuses to open doors and others have to do it for her]

•Is grumpy when she's tired and if she is very tired will fall asleep anywhere

Background:

 

Was born in Oregon state but then moved to South Korea when she was barely a year old. Her mother, whom is American, is a florist while her father works for a Korean technology company. Her parents met when they were in college and Stella's father was studying abroad in the US, long story short their short fling grew to a long romance where the two ended up marrying. When Stella was four she moved to California with her mother after her parent's divorce and for a year they lived with Stella's aunt so Stella's mother could get back on her feet. Right before school started Stella and her mother moved into their own apartment about fifteen minutes away from Stella's aunt right near the beach. Next door to her lived Stella's best friend Alex even though Alex was two years older. The two girls were inseparable until Stella decided she wanted to officially persue a music career and her mother did not agree so Stella moved to Korea when she was thirteen with her father and brothers. Stella visited for every school break and vacation and talked to Alex constantly and eventually her mother came around to her daughter's dream. It was within months of living in Korea that Stella joined SM as a trainee though after a few months she started to question her dream. She was picked for the group because of this.

~She is very messy in her own space (like her room) but a great cleaner when persuaded to clean parts of the dorm, with only a little complaining

~Despite her own personality she likes people more if they are rather reserved and calm since her best friend is very collected herself and her brothers as well

Kpop lover and Asian adorer! Is American and has no Asian-heritage roots but desperately wishes she did, she has always been immensely intrigued with Asia-related concepts/topics and can speak Korean better than Stella. Can be a little obsessive with things like latest Korean dramas and celebrity lives, also needs an ego-check every now and then, but she always has good intentions and a good heart despite her slight conceited personality. She is Stella's best supporter of her talent (encourages her growing up to sing at any opportunity and during Stella's training days continuously kept Stella focused and committed) and is always up for Skype chats or phone calls to pick up Stella's mood or self-esteem whenever Stella is down. Often times people think of her as unfriendly because she can be very argumentative and has strong opinions (which she is always more than happy to share with others even if they don't ask for it) but there is a second side to her as she is incredibly funny, her humor matches Stella's, and is caring like a concerned mother— she always asks if Stella is eating enough or is warm enough and gets called 'mother' by others teasingly. Stella and her are like sisters and they fight like sisters too, both will tell each other exactly what they think without holding back from one another so sometimes heated conversations happen, though the two are always better an hour, at most, later because they eventually understand where the other is coming from. When Stella moved to Korea their friendship didn't waver and the two would visit as often as possible. Alex/Yunae loves when Stella calls her 'unnie'. 

 

Easiest way to summarize her is if you don't know her well you will misinterpret her powerful and strong personality as offensive and harsh but truly is a genuinely honest person whom cares deepy about her loved ones. Passionate is also a very good adjective for her.
