Typhoon and Earthquake

So, my first ever blog will be about helping my fellow Filipinos, especially in the Visayas region namely Bohol, Tacloban, Samar and some parts of Northern Cebu. As we all know, the Philippines has been struck by a lot of calamities and this is just one out of several. The Visayas region has been hit by the Super Typhoon known as Yolanda (Hurrican Haiyan as known to the world). They say that this typhoon is the strongest typhoon ever to hit the world this year and has caused a tsunami-like flood that killed thousands of people and destroyed thousands of homes. Before this, we experienced a 7.2 maagnitude earthquake that damaged old churches, buildings, and even destroyed homes. Seeing it on television and seeing it with my own eyes really are two different experiences. The reason why I'm writing it in somewhere as public as AFF is because I hope that someone or some people might actually get to read this and possibly try to help our country in our time of need. Many families have lost their homes and their belongings and are in need of your help. I am not soliciting money from you people, I just want  other people from other parts of the world to know so that hopefully, some of you can do any action that I, a mere sixteen-year-old, can never do.

Also, the reason why I'm writing about this now is because, I, myself, have experienced the two calamities first hand and it really is a scary experience. Luckily, our location wasn't affected that much and our homes are safe but some places aren't so lucky and they need our help.

Prayers are accepted.

Relief goods are appreciated.

Your kindness is welcomed.

Its almost Christmas and with these calamities hitting our country it gives us little hope for the holidays. These calamities test our faith and principles and it really is heartbreaking seeing the news today. The tense feeling of hoping it was not your loved ones that lie on the road. All your hard work washed away by the storm. All our ancestor's hardwork crumbling.

It was a really eye-opening experience when I saw three german foreigners that helped in the relief operation, volunteering in helping carry out the heavy canned goods and water. Doing volunteer work gave me the large fulfillment that I actually helped in a way. I want others to experience it as well.

I hope you guys share your graces with the victims, especially this upcoming Christmas. :)
