Before I start this, I made this list originally for my friend who asked me for good music to write depressing stories to (also she saw me tear up in the library while I was listening to some of these songs).  So I thought while I was typing it up for her I might as well turn it into a blog post !! Sorry for the typos I typed this up really quickly >\\\<

For some strange reason Kpop has brought out my insane love for ballads.  When I was little my mum constantly listened to Vietnamese ballads and I was like how can you even like this it is so depressing?   These days I find myself loving ballads the most out of songs on the albums.  So here is my top twenty  "If I listen to it I'll feel like crying" Asian Pop songs / some OSTs (I don’t watch depressing dramas, I get too emotionally vested xD). You might note a lot of these are SM Entertainment songs, I don't apologise, they make amazing ballads. I've done my best to exclude some fandom songs that make me want to cry aka Marry You etc but some have been included because I think it runs deeper then just me crying because of the situation surrounding the songs.  Please note that I'm a crybaby so it doesn't take much to make me cry but hopefully, some of the list you'll agree with.  

20 "Because I'm Stupid" - SS501

I think I cry to this because it reminds me of my first crush.  I first listened to this when I was going through some issues with him so yeah =_=’ Moving on… 

19 "No More Pain No Gain"- M2M

18 When The Rain Comes"  -B2ST 

When it rains I like nothing more than to have a good cry for the heck of it, it is stress relieving xD

17 "Kiss Goodbye" - Wang Lee Hom

This song is so bitter sweet I always tear up a little T_____T Plus since it now reminds me off Leeteuk I cry because I miss him. 

16 "Can You Smile" Infinite (Acoustic version).

This song just makes me want to not smile and find someone to sob to.  Honestly the harmonies are great and Infinite in general have voices that complement each other really well. 

15 "Tear Drops on My Guitar" - CN Blue (Jonghyun Solo)

14 "Can't let you go Even if I die" 2am

This list wouldn’t be complete without at least one 2am song in it!  This song, whilst a tad dramatic and over the top is awesome to write a good angsty fanfic scene to.

13 "Liu Xia Lai" Fahrenheight 

I have to say this is partly a fandom song I sob to because I miss the boys as four but something about it and it’s simple melody line is powerful.

12 "Heart Damage" Navi Fest Crown J

This was one of the first ballads I listened to when I got into kpop and I was astounded by the power power and emotion behind Navi’s voice. Plus the lyrics despite being a little corny ,for me at least, match the emotion in her voice.

11 "That Man" Secret Garden OST

I LOVE the lyrics of this song.  I think it describes the push and pull of love extremely well.  I personally like Kyuhyun’s version the best but that might just be my bias speaking. 

10 "Blind" TRAX

 9 "Quasimodoe" Shinee 

If there were any Shinee song that demonstrates their vocal abilities this would definitely be one of them.  I like the meaning behind the song and Jonghyun’s voice in this is like heaven on earth.  Definitely worth to look up a ‘lyrical’ video for this song!

8 "In Heaven" –JYJ

7 "It Has To Be You" – Yesung

I always have this on my car CD and I dramatically sing to it while tearing up.  Yup I have issues XD Plus Cinderella’s sister is one of the only melodramas I’ve actually been able to stand though by the end of it my tears ran out.  Yesung has the ability to convey so much emotion in his voice and every carries a sincerity that gives his voice that unique quality that everyone loves.

Other Notable mentions: Grey Paper, Seven Years of Love (which very nearly made the list, but I thought way too many SJ OSTs in here but it is definitely a good listen to.

6 "Some Day" - UKiss

There is nothing like a good motivational song to sob over.  Whenever I do something bad or fail at something I listen to this song for a good cry. Honestly, I love this song it hits all the right places

5 "Baby Don't Cry" 

If "Can You Smile" makes me wanna do anything but smile this song makes me want to cry; stupid reverse phycology and its weird and wonderful ways of tormenting my mind. The vocals are amazing and the boy’s voices perfectly complement each other.  I personally like  the Mandarin version better but that might just be me xD

Notable Mentions: Peter Pan (I know this song is meant to be happy but it is so sweet it makes me sob) 

4 Blue Tomorrow - Super Junior M

I’d be lying if this song reminded me of Hangeng and how he left Super Junior.  However, Zhou Mi in particular has an extremely emotive voice which contrasts beautifully with Kyuhyun’s pure, chocolaty smooth voice to give a poignant ballad that I have grown to love (while I sob along to it).

Notable Mentions: At Least I Still Have You , Nearly Endless Love (which makes me cry in laughter because anyone who knows "let's be friends" might agree with me damn you sjm for ruining a perfectly serious song for me)

3"Dear Daddy" f(x) 

This song touches a special place in my heart because I'm a daddy's girl and after a certain incident happened I find my heart breaking every time I listen to this.

2 "My All Is In You" Super Junior 

I am an ELF so Super Junior has made me sob more than any other band out there.  However, when I first heard this song I was in tears. Like no joke I was bawling, yes I had a bad day that day, but something about this song touched my heart.  Can I just say here that KRY are amazing singers and despite their voices being so different they manage to compliment each other so well.  Special mention must go to Yesung’s adlibs in this (I wish I could of heard him sing this live before he went to the army).  I had to be very careful not to fill this list with SJ songs because so many make me cry but this would be the number one contender for making tears spring to mind.

Notable mentions: She's Gone, Y, Andante, Bitter Sweet, So I, Lovely Day (the list could go on there are so many T___T)

DBSK's Stand by you / Love in The Ice/ Doue

T_______T DBSK AS 5 WHY DO YOU MAKE ME CRY SO MUCH? I can’t choose a number one between these songs so I told myself, I’ll pick them all! I knew DBSK before Super Junior and I'm glad I knew them before they broke up even if it was painful to see them split.  The combination of Xiah’s soft voice with Jaejoong’s emotive vocals and Changmin’s powerful belts is simply magical.  All of these songs have amazing melody lines and lyrics that are so bitter sweet I feel like crying a river. 

There are other amazing ballads that don't make me cry but are breath taking(*coughs* Hot Times) ... maybe I’ll have another blog for that. Let me know your faves~ I always love a new ballad song to sob along to and write angsty fanfic scenes to xD
