Urban Legends for Halloween (inspired by un_holy_confessions)

Hi! It's the day before Halloween and I just couldn't resist doing this blog post for some reason...

So, get ready for dem nightmares...

1. Robert the Doll: Robert the Doll was owned by Robert Eugene Otto, given to him in 1906 by a servant who didn't like the family and was skilled in black magic. His parents often heard Robert talk to the doll and the doll seemed to talk back. At first, they thought that it was Robert speaking for the doll in a changed voice, but, later, they believed that it was actually the doll speaking. When the family was out, neighbours said that they saw the doll moving from window to window. The parents also claimed that they swore they can sometimes hear Robert giggling creepily and walking room to room. Sometimes, Eugene would scream at night and when his parents came over to see, he would be in bed, scared and all the furniture would be turned over. Eugene then says that "Robert did it!"

Eugene died in 1974 and the doll was in the attic until a new family bought the house. A ten-year-old girl was the doll's new owner and she started screaming at night as well. The girl also claims that Robert moved around from room to room and tried to attack her as well. Rober the Doll is now in a museum and the staff claim that he still does creepy stuff, even behind a glass case...

2. The Slit Mouthed Woman/Kuchisake-Onna: Kids walking the streets of Tokyo alone may encounter a woman wearing a surgical mask. She will stop and approach them and ask "Am I pretty?" If you say no, she kills you. Most people say yes, then she rips off her surgical maks, revealing a mouth slit from ear-to-ear. She will ask the same question and if you say no this time, she kills you. But, if you say yes, she brings out a knife and slits your mouth to look like hers. The only way to escape is to run away, throw candy or fruit at her so she picks it up, which buys you time to run away. Or, give her a vague answer like "You look average" or "You look so-so", which makes her walk away in confusion.

3. The Clown Staue: A girl was babysitting two children, a boy and a girl, while their parents were out on a dinner date. She saw a life-like staue of a clown in the family room and phoned the parents number. She asked them if she could cover up the statue. "It's not that I don't like it, it's just that it's kinda freaky" was what she said. The parents then frantically replied "What clown statue?!' The staue was actually a man who secretly lived in the family's attic that took a liking to the kids and wanted to kill the babysitter...
