SINGING.

There are a few facts that you might want to find out about me;
__________)) I LOVE to sing.
__________)) I sing like .

So, in order to make myself sound much much better (according to how I'd like it), I did a few stuff for the past weeks. Let's say it's like an experiment for me, and luckily, I was able to find my vocal range and sing it like a ing boss. :))

I don't know if you guys are interested in finding out about my singing shizz but if you think you sing like and you want to improve, you might as well want to read the things that I'll be posting here because I'm pretty sure they'll be making sense.

1. Find your vocal range! I used this youtube video HERE. I was able to find mine--unfortunately, it's stuck between mezzo soprano and alto, but I thought that alto suits my voice more. If you want, you can also use other youtube videos that involve finding your vocal range for references out there. I'm pretty sure the video link that I posted there isn't the only video wherein you can find your vocal range.

2. Second, in order to sing better, you must know the fundamentals; tune, tone and time. (referenced from learnhowtosingbetterfast.com)
> Tune is the most important because you have to be on-key. Imagine someone singing "Rolling in the Deep" in a screeching way--not that good. Or even singing "Keep Your Head Down" by TVXQ in a really really low manner... definitely a turn-off right? :/
> Tone is where you have to either be gentle in your songs or be harsh (that depends on what you're singing). If you're going to sing BigBang's "Haru Haru" in a harsh manner, that won't be very nice to listen to, right? XD
> Time - hitting the notes and getting on cue! That's important too!

You can hire a vocal coach if you want to, but for me, it would be really hectic for me to let singing interfere with my studies as well. I'm serious with singing, but I'm also serious with my studies. Plus, you just have to pay lots of money and I'm still saving up some money for BigBang concert tickets (if they ever come here to Manila to have a concert), for prom expenses, FOOD, internet, etc.

But a better way to learn how to sing (if you're not really that busy) is joining the choir! (Or if you're from another religion, try joining your prayer groups. I don't know what you call that though and I'm sorry)

Also take these useful tips from the same site:
-- Posture (straighten your posture to get that air out of your diaphragm, which is located specifically around your stomach. Don't always depend on your throat or else it will easily tire out)
-- BREATHING (Control breathing. improve it by doing cardiovascular activities that require your lungs breathing to its full ability for you. it could also expand your lung capacity, which would be really helpful)
--WARM UP!
-- BE CONFIDENT: Everything is in your head. Doesn't matter if you have a kinda ish voice; as long as you're able to make the crowd feel this dynamic feeling in you when you sing, you can actually sound good. :-bd // A tip for your restless heart - lay your hand on your heart and say, "all is well". Your heart is a coward and naive little living organ that. Fool it, so that you'd gain some strength to face your problems as it is. (Quoted from "3 Idiots" XD) If you're a Harry Potter fan, you might as well remember Ron from the Half-Blood Prince, who thought that he drank the "Lady-Luck" potion (correct me if I'm wrong) that Harry earned from Potion class. Ron was able to lead Gryffindor to success in that Quidditch match because one, he fooled himself (actually Harry fooled him) and two, it's just all in his head. ALSO BE POSITIVE!!!!! :D
-- Drink lots and lots of water to hydrate your throat, since your throat will dry up. To add to it, DON'T DRINK COLD WATER IF YOU WANT TO PRACTICE SINGING--room temperature water is a must. Your throat might get an infection out of it.
-- TAKE GOOD ING CARE OF YOURSELF: Enough sleep, proper diet--you're human and you have the right to take care of yourself (ok that didn't really make sense BUT DO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF and don't tire yourself out that much)
-- The site said to lessen the dairy products because of some scientific . I did try it (though I LOVE MILK AND IT WAS TORTURE FOR ME). It worked.
-- VERY IMPORTANT: RECORD YOURSELF. You really should do this because this would let you know if you're satisfied with your voice or not. WHat's recorded won't lie to you--it will simply mirror what you're singing, and it's up to you whether to improve or not.

So doing these things, I kinda find my voice to be similiar to Adele's or Amy Winehouse's--jazzy and raspy. Alto... :) Although I want to sound all fierce like CL of 2NE1 or Nicki Minaj, I kinda like it since there are only a few famous singers with a deep, soulful voice like Adele's & Amy Winehouse's. :DDDD

So try these tips and I wanna hear from you guys!

Hope this helps.
