Writing a Running Man fanfic
I've finally returned to the fanfic world after many years. I have found a new "home" in AsianFanfics.com. Previously, I was writing in Winglin and a decommissioned website.
I actually know very little about Kpop. However, I like Running Man and thanks to an excellent fanfic "The Equation of Time", it had triggered my interest to write again.
The team size of Running Man alone is larger than any "cast size" that I had ever used for my previous fanfics. It is tough to manage 7 + 1 (ie Gil) characters in a story and to let them some characteristics of their own.
More importantly, I have broken my own rules in writing fanfics. For all my previous fanfics, the artists were given new story characters apart from their shows and real lives. It's difficult to extend a show character into fanfics because we would already have some preconceptions of the character and we expected him to act in certain ways. I'm glad I've managed to break myself from this "confinement". Perhaps it's because Running Man had already ended in my story.
Another "taboo" that I've committed is mixing real life facts and events into my story. It makes it even harder for the story character to develop its own personality in the story.
I always hope that my story characters could strike a chord with some readers. I like to discuss about my story characters and their actions.
Thanks to many friends and commenters who reassured me that I can still write a decent fanfic, I managed to come this far. This story as it is is already longer than any fanfic that I have ever written and it has not even ended.
Enough of my musing, it's time to return to my fanfic writing!
