Sasaeng fans have been an issue for god knows how long. It’s really sad to see that idols who practically have given up their life to provide good music and variety for us being harassed and disturbed by these people. To say it plainly, sasaeng fans are not fans. Instead, they are privacy invaders, trespassers and law offenders. Girls of age 13-22 are blindly ruining their lives by following idols around just so that ‘oppa recognizes me’. Yes, idols may recognize you afterwards, but it is cold hard fact that their memories of you are not the most positive.

                Sasaeng fans work in an organization, where the older members get work in phone companies and banks to retrieve personal information on the idol group members and the younger fan are to follow the idols as instructed by the older members. The leader of the group is usually someone with a large amount of money, and willing to provide for the members to ride on taxis and etc. However, money doesn’t grow on trees and the leader won’t always have enough money to supply the sasaeng organization. Girls who are underage are willing to sell their bodies into ion so that they have enough money to satisfy their sick obsession. It really disturbs me and I feel extremely sorry for their actions towards themselves. Not only are they ruining their future to become something great that they can be, they are also not giving themselves the respect that they deserve. Albeit the fact, I do not sympathise for their stupidity.

               Now beware my dear friends who are going to visit Korea anytime soon. These sasaengs a violent. They constantly get into fights because they are bored while stalkling the idols. On top of that, any fans who get into their blacklist cannot enter performances to see the idols. Yes, they do take it this far. In the account of a sasaeng fan, she says that they take international fans (mostly westerners) to go to the idol's dorms and performances but the international fan will pay for everything from food and drinks to taxi fares. The sasaengs also do this so that they can sit in the front of the stage because western fans are usually placed near the stage so that the camera men can capture the diversity of KPOP. Don't say I didn't warn you.

                I am a hard-core exotic, but by hard-core I mean screaming in excitement when they are performing or fainting at the sight of a handsome Kris. I will not, even if I see them and there is only me, touch them in any way that may make them feel uncomfortable, block their walk way, grab their clothing, stuff my into their bags, give Kai a teddy bear with a camera installed in it, take photos of Tao in a bathrobe or go into Baekhyun older brother’s wedding and ruin it for everyone. Yes, I may just go up to them and ask for a signature, but if they can’t then that’s okay. Honestly, I would be shattered to have lost that chance, but I don’t think I could ever push myself onto them, get photos with them and their signature yet know that they feel distressed.

                My poor Kyung Soo, he doesn’t dare to walk outside and jumps behind a wall when he sees sasaeng fans, or just fans in general are outside to take photos of stars. You can see how psychologically affected the stars are. He was once grabbed casually by a girl and she latched herself onto him, but of course being and idol, they can’t yell at the fans for because of their image., but I hoped that would just slap the girl in their faces…and I don’t care how y that sounds.

            A sasaeng fan bought the same van as EXO and used it to wait outside EXO’s schedules. Luhan actually tried to get on it once but his manager freaked out and pulled him out. Luhan and Baekhyun were also pushed around at the airport and Luhan fell down, but fans don’t bother to help him up but their take their chances and touch him in inappropriate place. AND KAI! Kai is a dancer, and for a dancer, his body is important. Fan once pulled Kai, causing him to fall down some stair resulting to him injuring his knee and back. I really did cry to see this happen to Kai. HOW DO YOU EVEN PROCESS THIS?

                The idols knows you are there…they do everything to try to protect each other. This picture was taken by a fan (I don't know if it is a sasaeng or not) outside of their toilets (so I am suspecting it is). Chanyeol and Sehun (I think) are blocking so that the members can go toilet without being photographed.

                This is what EXO thinks about their sasaeng fans, and you can tell that they are caring towards everyone around them but completely sick and tired of the horror created by sasaengs.

Even if I’m just using EXO as an example, other groups also suffer the same situation such as the infamous JYJ and TVXQ sasaeng fans, SS501 sasaeng fans and the list goes on. I just hope that one day all the fans will stop what they are doing and reflect on their actions. I’m not asking for them to stop worshipping their idols, stop taking photos or stop screaming, but I just hope that they stop making the idols feel threatened, feel violated and scar them. I wish the sasaeng fans would listen to their pleas. These are not words from a kpop fan who is standing up for her oppas, but these are words from a bystander.
