First Impression
You see, I don't usually take notice of people on the streets. I'm busy with my stuff and they are busy with theirs. However, I would like to call today the exception.
Today, my friend I'm living with and I stopped by our respective college buildings for some paperwork and to ask a few things. When we arrived to my college, a rather pleasant surprise awaited for me. You see, I major in Literature, mainly English and German and will focus on becoming a translator/interpreter. But that's not the point.
The whole building gives off an intellectual vibe, if I may, making it clear that this is the 'Literature zone'. And as you step in through the big black gates, there's a small path and trees, shrubs, bushes, flowers and whatnot. However, the first thing I noticed as we headded to the main entrance, was a guy (older than me), sitting in the front garden-ish, and reading a poetry book. He wore a leather jacket, some jeans and boots, his backpack next to him. His hair was somewhat a light brown and disheveled. Yes, he had the aura of a bad boy. Sort of. And I'm not even into bad boys. I think.
But anyway, we passed by him, entered the building to get some answers and as we headded out, the guy was still there, still reading. He seemed so immersed in that book, and I must confess, I found that rather cute. He must've felt watched though, because he raised his head and I quickly looked away. I have this nervous tic to play with my hair, and I've done that as we left the place.
I didn't look back to check, but I know he watched me.
I don't even know why I'm sharing this, but there was something about that guy which drew me in. As I said before, I'm not into bad boys, but that guy had some charisma. Especially the longer, disheveled hair combined with a leather jacket and jeans. And the cherry on top: he was reading a poetry book!
Ugh, I've got no idea what's gotten into me. Maybe the paradoxical feeling I got from that guy? I mean, just imagine this scene: a guy emanating bad vibes, looking all hot and dangerous reading a poetry book! Isn't it, like, impossible?
But then again, we live in a very interesting world, haha.
