What do you think?

Heya!

How you've been? Good? I hope you were great and that autumn is being nice to you all, just like it's here, with me :) I swear, it's so sunny and lovely outside during the ay and the sky is so starry during the night that you wouldn't want to stay inside!^^ Super nice!

Anyway, I was thinking of asking you guys something since I want to hear other opinions as well. It's about k-pop, fanfics and mixing bands. What do you think about those fics that bring together more than just one group as mains? And I'm not talking about the usual MBLEAST, Big Bang & 2NE1, Suju & SNSD, FT Island & CN Blue, JYJ & TVXQ (does this even counts as bringing two groups together since they were an item before disbanding? O.o) Beast & 4Minutes, but about the odd ones that mix super popular groups with not so popular or just ones that differ as style and come from a different company like, for example, EXO and, I don't know, BAP? Or Block B and Big Bang?

Oh, oh and another question :) What would give a better vibe in a story: MBLAQ & EXO or Infinite & EXO? Just curious :D

Thanks a lot, dear fireflies! *huuugs*

I personally feel that theres more diversity in the personalities if we include several groups equally in a fic, so the story can be written by different perspectives. However, the problem by including too many people is that the writing becomes cluttered unless the author is fantastic (which, in this case, you are :D) so its rather risky. Also, having multiple characters dont usually appeal to the readers (or so i've witnessed on this website), although i love it personally :D But if you put someone like Block B and Big bang, it's something we've already seen. Something like Big bang and exo gives more scope to a variety of personality traits.

as for the better vibe, i'd OBVIOUSLY choose MBLAQ and exo (or mblaq and infinite otl)

Mixing groups always makes things interesting especially if they aren't groups that are mixed together a lot. Sometimes its even refreshing as a reader as it's something 'new'.

It's possible but a crud load of work and effort to give everyone enough mention in the story (I know I tried >_<). I put about 4-5 SM groups in one fic.

it does not matter what members you combine from what groups as long as you do it well and not leave behind a character (not fully developed).
the point is, you can mix whatever bands you want as long as you pick only a few members from them if they are a big group. the lucky bands depend on you and no one else for that matter; you're their god when you write.

I personally prefer when only some members are taken from some groups in order to create a good mix. Not ALL the memebers, but only those who can fit a particular theme/genre/group...

Well, why not? But if you're planning to do a story based on reality, it's gonna have too many characters, in my opinion. I mean, exo and Bap for example, 18 characters already without any other OC's. That's a lot and you can't leave out or only mention a character once... Even though that would be a lot too. But if you plan on using them alone, making them something else, not singers, that would be fine. As long as they match the character's profile. At least in my opinion, but then again, if the plot's good and the writing so brilliant, you should be able to pull off anything.

Hm, it depends, I guess? A lot of people are multi-fandom so it's really fun for them when two groups that they like are in the same story. SS501 isn't promoting together at the moment, so currently, Boyfriend's my only active favourite. I don't mind when there's other groups mixed in, but tbh it can get kind of confusing for me since I only know the ones that I like XD

I think it's cool to mix any idols together, there are no rules for who can and can't combine. EXO & MBLAQ or EXO & Infinite, I'm sure both would be great :) Of course I find EXO and Infinite to be potentially easier to write about since they've both had these sort of supernatural concepts. Then again, they're kinda overused, so with a really good plot, MBLAQ would be a far more interesting choice ^^

A mix beteeen kpop bands/idols is actually normal in real life, like how shinee member are best friends with infinite and mblaq; Fx Amber and Ailee. I was fangirling when I noticed jaejoong and gd mutual follow on instagram.

I read often of Super Generation^^
Personally I like stories with lot of characters, from various bands!

If I can say my opinion I'd like to read about Infinite and Exo... Not that I don't like MBLAQ but I don't know... I feel like saying Infinite^^
