★ TUTORIAL 001 from baboracoon

This is an old tutorial or maybe my first tutorial that I had shared to you guys when I had my first year anniversary for my shop.

My shop will have a comeback so don't miss it!

Introduction:

Hi guys, finally I can make a tutorial for you. Now, I will show you how to make a simple poster. The theme of this poster is like fighting spirit, dark. It's simply like a blending poster I think.  I got an idea after getting a picture from KPOPHQPictures. Homin from TVXQ are hot. This poster doesn't belong to anyone. Belongs to me only as the creator. hehe

Prepare:

Adobe Photoshop (Any version it’s nice. Mine is Adobe Photoshop CS3)

HQ Homin pictures. Click here to get the pictures. Credit to KPOPHQPictures

The other Homin picture. Not HQ one. :( I find it at google. It's from "Why (Keep Your Head Down)" promotion.

Textures. (Credit to crazykira @deviantart)

Brushes (I don't find the link. I've downloaded it for a long time. I will do sharing it but credit is given to the owner.)

Steps:

1. Prepare a canvas in size 500 x 600 pixels. This is the size I always use for making a poster.

2. Fill it with black color or #000000

3. Put Homin pictures. Since it’s a HQ, you need to resize it into 30% or any size you like. For me, I resize it into 30%. Put Yunho above Changmin. It will be like this.

4. Click Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Brightness / Contrast.

Brightness: +80 & Contrast: +44

5. Click Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Hue/Saturation. Set it like this:

Hue: +2

Saturation: +19

Lightness:+10

6. Click Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Exposure. Set it like this:

Exposure: 0

Offset: +0.0137

Gamma: 0.85

7. Click Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Color Balance. Set it Like this:

Midtone: +4         -4            -9

Shadows: -4        0            +7

Highlight: -2           0               2

8. Click Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Photo Filter -> Warming Filter (LBA). Put the density into 21%.

9. Then drag the pattern from this psd coloring. It’s on the group 2 or black white one. I don’t have the pattern hehe. Then you can drag one of this texture and put it above the dark canvas/layer. The one I choose is texture number five. Sharpen it once.

10. Start to erase yunho’s part so you can see Changmin. Use “Drop Shadow Brushes” and it will be nicer. I always like to use a big size of brushes, so I use 199pix as the size of brushes. So it will be like this.

11. Then use this brush with color #cccccc and put it into soft light. You can get the brushes by downloading the resources. I put it there. I forgot where I did getting the brushes. Credit is given to the owner.

12. Sharpen the pictures of Homin. Just once.

13. Drag the other Homin. This time it’s different. Put it under the layer where you put the brushes. Click Image -> Adjustment -> Brightness/Contrast. Set it until it’s not bright anymore. I set it into “Brightness -100 and the contrast is +31”.

14. Delete some parts of the Homin pictures. Sharpen it. Let me tell you one trick. When you delete the part, suddenly you feel it’s not good enough. Just duplicate it and then merge down. You can delete it once more. hehe

15. To write the title, “The Fighter”. I use font “Gold Miner”. I type differently, “The” and “Fighter” using color # 999999. Then right-click to get “Blending Option” and click Drop Shadow. Put the Distance on 0px, Spread on 0px and the Size on 5px. Before you change it, it’s already in multiply. Just change the color into #666666

16. And the final, I put it so it will be like movie poster. I call it “Movie Effect” without credit. First, click New Layer and put it above all images. Click icon “Rectangular Marquee Tool” and put it on the middle. Size it as much as you want.

17. Click Paint Bucket and fill it with #333333. After that, click the Rectangular Marquee Tool again. Drag it into the bottom part and do the same things. It will be like this.

18. Tada! Your dark poster is done! I hope it can help you. Tell me your result!
