Personality: Definitely NOT a morning person, however get me caffeinated and you'll be my next best friend. I've been known to have a mother-like personality in terms of always worrying about the welfare of those closest to me. However, it doesn't mean I'm as strict as my mother would be. I like to treat people as friends and get them comfortable around me. At first glance, many mistake my stoic face for arrogance, but really I'm just taking the time to analyse the environment around me. People are startled to see me being childish until they finally realise, that there's a child in all of us.

So here's a story from a-z

Background: Born in Sydney, Australia to a Vietnamese mother and Korean father. At the age of 3, moved to the states to be closer to my maternal grandparents who migrated there. Grew up with a love for music in general and never having a preferred genre. Music was my life. By the age of 7, mother had decided that a well rounded education was the way to go and enrolled me in piano lessons. I found that it was an outlet for all the excess energy I had even after coming home from school. People wouldn't say I was a prodigy, but through hard work I managed to gain my teaching certificate before I left for Korea. Other than piano, singing held a special place in my heart. Growing up near my grandmother exposed me to a wonderful array of traditional Vietnamese music. Her voice was one that I found was very hard to come by. A clear, melodic tone that I tried very hard to replicate.

As I grew up, I found a fondness for R'n'B and pop music. Who wouldn't with the constant exposure in American media. It wasn't until I started voice lessons that my talent really shone through. I participated in my first BIG singing competition when I was 18, American Idol. The then, every teenagers dream. If you made it on Idol, you were set for life. My Korean friends, whom I met in high school thought it a waste. After all, they said, you're Asian...how many Asians make it through to the end in this competition, try Kpop they encouraged. Of course I knew about Big Bang...although they were the only group I really knew. I started to search and in my search I came across their training videos pre-debut. I was in awe at the dedication and amount of talent they showed and the opportunities of working with all the teachers and coaches.

So I left for Korea at the end of high school...well more like I was kicked out by dad. Mum continued to support my love for music and helped in any way she could. So did the rest of the family...seemed just dad was against it. I had basic Korean from what my dad taught me...so all hope wasn't lost, but audition after audition became tiring. I knew I had the talent, I was definitely better than other applicants...wasn't I? Now I wasn't so sure...and this would be my last opportunity. It was either make it...or go home a failure.

Our Love Story: Meet in passing when hanging out with Woohyun and Ailee. Maybe after debut, through backstage of various shows. Celine notices how he seems like her except he really doesn't have many friends so her kind nature kicks in and tries to befriend him. Woohyun being his greasy self makes the situation awkward, but Sunggyu and Celine are too mature to care. Then things develop from mutual understanding (if Celine is The Lock).

This is my life

Trainee Life: I originally started off my training in the states, having hoped to debut as one of those glamorous off Hollywood Boulevard type celebrities. That all changed though when my friends introduced me to the world of Kpop. I wasn't bedazzled or starstruck by the vast sea of idols, oh far from it, I envied the opportunity they had to train with some of the best in their profession.

It's been 3 years now since I left my hometown of Philadelphia. A grueling 2 years filled with sweat and LOTS of tears. Of course there would be tears...girls are rather sensitive when they're told, "You're too fat, you need to lose weight" or, "You can't even keep beat, what makes you think you can dance!". Sometimes the dreaded, "You'll never debut!" seeemed to be all that kept me going. I didn't leave the states to be a never has been...my dream is to be the future.

Predebut: Participated in various community events as a solo singer. Passed the initial audition rounds of American Idol at the age of 18. So basically, anything to do with singing, then I would be there.
