Babble #1

After the invigilators collected her examination script, she sighed in relief for another paper was done. However, her relief did not last for long as she started noticing her Mother Tongue teachers entering from backstage. It was then she remembered that today, today she was going to get back her O-Level Mother Tongue results.

Waves of panic rushed over her as she whimpered due to the cool air-con blowing and due to her nervousness. Slowly, the atmosphere in the hall changed as the other students start noticing the teachers. She could not stand the heightened tension in the hall as she laid her head on the table and took deep breaths. She prayed and prayed, hoping that she would like what she saw because honestly, she really needed that A1 for herself and she couldn't see any other options besides getting that A1. As the chief invigilator dismissed the other students class by class, she could see mixed emotions on her classmates' face, probably mirroring hers as well.

They had fearful yet expectant gazes as each of them walked to the front of the hall. Some of the shouted for joy after seeing the results they wanted. Some of the staggered back, worried about the impending decision they have to make. Should they retake the exams or give it up? Now it was finally her turn.

She walked to the front of the hall and took a look at the namelist. She could not believe what she saw. There besides her name, it was a 1, D. She was never that happy to see a 1 in her life! She looked around the hall, hoping to find her to share her happiness with. But then when her gaze fell on her, she realized her best friend was crying. It was then she recalled what her geography teacher said to her class once. "On results day, in the hall, you will see tears after all, you are in a girls' school and girls love to cry. But there are two type of tears you will shed. And your actions now will determine what kind of tears you will shed next year. You could be crying tears of joy or be crying tears of sadness."

And that was exactly what she saw that day even though it was the release of just one O-Level subject.

Alright guys, I'm gonna end it here. It's a bit abrupt but hey it was just babbles that I have to write it out. :) Oh yes for those of you living in SG and in Sec 4 this year, you must have gotten your MT results recently. I just wanted to say for those of you who gotten undesirable results. Do not be too sad for you got your other 7-8 subjects to fight on later. Think well whether it would be worth it for you to retake. Go and talk to your MT teachers about it. They can offer you really good advice but if you want to hear a third opinion, you can also drop me a PM heh. but for those of you who attained results that you are happy with, your next challenge is to not be complacent and work hard for your next 7-8 subjects so that you will be double, triple times happier next year when you return to your school on results day :)
