Family Background: Jae-Hwa's parents have been childhood friends for the longest time. They shared all their secrets with each other and even attended the same college in order to stay close. Eventually Jae-Hwa's parents began to casually date and soon get married. What was amazing about Jae-Hwa's parents was that they were a well-oiled fighting machine. Her parents, both Law majors, started a law firm together and became a partners. Together Jae-Hwa's parents would build the most successful law firm in all of South Korea. The mother, though, became pregnant with child. Jae-Hwa was a complete surprise to her family, as her parents weren't planning on having children just yet. Jae-Hwa was then brought into the world. Her parents tried everything they could to take care of Jae-Hwa, but with work in the way it was difficult. Jae-Hwa had to follow her parents insane rules that was placed on her. Her parents didn't know how to really take care of her.
     One day Jae-Hwa's aunt came over to visit. You see her aunt was the older sister to Jae-Hwa's mother, however her aunt lived in Los Angeles. The aunt noticed that Jae-Hwa's parents had no idea how to take care of a 4 year old, so Jae-Hwa's aunt took it upon herself to raise Jae-Hwa all by herself in Los Angeles. Jae-Hwa's parents were reluctant to let go of Jae-Hwa, but they finally agreed for their daughters sake. So 4 year old Jae-Hwa left with her aunt to Los Angeles. There Jae-Hwa would then begin to call Los Angeles her home. Jae-Hwa's aunt took great care of her and at one point Jae-Hwa never wanted to leave. But by the age of 13, Jae-Hwa's parents demanded for their daughter to come back home. So Jae-Hwa left her favorite place in the whole world and left for South Korea. Back with her parents, Jae-Hwa was surprised that her parents actually spent time with her. Jae-Hwa's life at home was pretty good, but in school it was difficult. Jae-Hwa's Korean wasn't up to level as her classmates, so making friends was hard. The only thing that made Jae-Hwa comfortable in school was when she left mid-class to go to free-style rap offs. She got into a lot of trouble with school and her parents for constantly skipping class. Jae-Hwa didn't really care about what her parents thought, but in order to get them off her back she started going to class. Though, she then started to going to rap offs late at night.

How were you discovered: Jae-Hwa was only 13 when she began ditching school in order to attend secret rap battles downtown. While sneaking into a club to see her favorite rapper perform, she got caught by one of the security guards. Jae-Hwa pleaded with the guard to let her in, but he didn't budge. However a miracle happened. Jae-Hwa noticed her favorite underground rapper coming up. "Hey it's okay. This is my younger sister." The rapper lied to the guard, but it seemed to work. Jae-Hwa was able to talk to her savior. He laughed. Such a young girl was so interested in rapping, it seemed funny to him. "Well if you're good at rapping, lets see what you can do." So Jae-Hwa went against several other rappers. She was good, but had so much room for improvement. Over the next year, Jae-Hwa became famous in the underground world, even though she was so young. Word got around about the cute girl who can rap like any other. One night, after Jae-Hwa won other rap battle and scouter from SM came to her. "You're unique. We need unique." Jae-Hwa didn't want to become a trainee at first, but she decided it was the only way to become an idol. So Jae-Hwa auditioned and made it in.
Trainee Years: 4 years  
Trainee Life: Jae-Hwa's trainee life was fulfilling and fun for her. She expanded her rapping skills to a whole new level and became known as one of the best rappers in SM. Other trainees liked Jae-Hwa for her cute apperance, though several were surprised by her contracting personality compared to her image. Jae-Hwa had a lot of friends, but never really felt close with all her peers.
