Is it weird

Please nobody take this the wrong way...

I am an african american, 13 year old girl who is obsessed with kpop and korea itself. Is that weird. Like seriuosly people always ask me why i have nothing but kpop music and people on my phone and they always just straight up make fun of me because if. Well sorry I don't like people like drake, niki manaj and all those other people. I like SHINee and GD and all the other kpop ppl. Like I mean is it bad to be really interested ina different country. Thats why I'm always so shy around people because I know they don't like the things I like.

I'm srry I'm not doing this to get attention I just wanted to put my feelings out there speak my mind. I've just been alittle put donw lately.

For starters,Its okay your not alone. I've been teased since the sixth the grade about obsessing over kpop and not the songs my peers would listen to,(like Drake,Jay-Z,etc).I to am also African-American and 13.(Because of being laughed at I went into a depression state as if I'm the only weirdo).Soon I found out that it's not bad to like something in a different country and that you can like whatever you want,your just being you.Ignore others and follow the things you have an interest in :) Also raise your head high with pride and say "Hey!It make me happy and puts a smile on face,and nothing you say will make me feel any different...I'M MY OWN PERSON AND I CAN EXPRESS MYSELF IN ANY WAY I WANT!" And there is no need to be shy..EXPRESS YOURSELF!! >w<

Honey, don't worry about a thing <3 People are just scared of new stuff and stuff they don't know. If it's out of the ordinary, they tend to see it as a bad thing. Nobody's to blame for this, really, it's just human nature. Smile and shrug it off, saying "It makes me happy. That's all." It's what I do, and people tend to stop bothering me after a while.

dude it's ok I'm African American (i'm 10) too people make fun of me but all I do is just ignore them. Don't be shy ether my parents don't like me listening to them ether but I don't care. Be Yourself!

I feel the same way. I am also african american and I don't think it's wierd to like another country, I like Korea and Kpop so in my opinion, I don't think it is, it's just what we like. I guess...
