Personality:

In school, Ja Yeon is known as the face of the school. Whenever there's a new school magazine or poster to be made, she will be invited to the photoshoot for the cover picture. She's a stubborn kid and does what she wants. She doesn't really care about what others think of her. All she wants is for the student population to treat her as just another kid in the school, and not as a idol-to-be. Just like any other ordinary teenage, there are times where she would not do her assignments. After getting lecture from her managers, she would than complete them. As a trainee of Sunshine Entertainment, she gets many oppurtunity to perform when there's a school concert / celebration which helps her gain stage exposure and audience interaction.

At home, she is a obedient child. She may be lazy and have a messy room, but when she is told to clean the mess up, she will and she does it fast and efficient. As the only child, she may be somewhat spoil by her parents. Ja Yeon is aware of that fully and tries her best to not be like a rich spoil brat. Ja Yeon also have her own dance studio at home. Her parents knew her love for dance and music and used the spare rooms to build a dance studio and music studio for her which is fully equiped with music instruments and speakers...etc. Although all these are provided for her, Ja Yeon is expected to at least clean the 2 studios twice each month. She does her job in order to continue have the previlege to use them.

In the dorm, Ja Yeon is the "Miss 4D". She is obsessed over the japanese cartoon, Doraemon. She started learning Japanese because of Doraemon. Sometimes, she would play "Scissors Paper Stone" with her members but keep using Stone because she as trying to be like Doraemon, who's hand is round and could only play Stone. Ja Yeon would also have random outburst at random timing at random places. She would draw weird random animal mixture and show it to her members. She is also known for the "fail-aegyo" that she always use on her members when she's hungry. 

When working, Jang Ja Yeon transform into Ja Yeon, a talented member of Daisy, where she shows off her rapping and dancing skills. The stage presence in her and her members would made the fans go crazy. In the recording studio, Ja Yeon shows her ability to memorize lyrics fast and harmonize well with her members. She would sometimes write her own lyrics and produce her own music to the rap, hoping to have her own songs included in the group's future albums. Ja Yeon becomes really competitive when it comes to work. She always tries her best to be the best. She hates to be the last. Even so, her sportsmanship would still be there where she congratulates the winners and try harder next time.

Background:

17 May 1996, a female baby was born in South Korea, Busan. She was named Jang Ja Yeon by her parents. She was the only child of the Jang Family. Her Dad, Spencer Jang ShinHyuk, is a Music Video Director working under SM Entertainment since 1994. He is known for many of his works including BoA's hit "Eat You Up", H.O.T's "Candy", Super Junior's "No Other", SHINee's "Replay", f(x)'s recent comeback with "Rum Pum Pum Pum" and "Shawdow"...etc. For he is experience in the field of the KPOP Industry, he had urged Ja Yeon to reconsider joining the Idol Industry for that it is really tough. Ja Yeon's Mum, Han Hyehee, used to be an actress under SM Entertainment, and that's when she met Ja Yeon's Dad. In 1997, Ja Yeon's Mum retired when she had Ja Yeon so that she can be a full-time housewife and went to Busan to settle down for that 9 months.

In 1999, Ja Yeon's family moved to Australia. This is because Ja Yeon's Dad was offered a place as an Lecturer in University of Melboune. Ja Yeon's Dad accepted the offer and took a temporary leave from SM Entertainment. Ever since Ja Yeon was young, she wanted to become an idol like BoA who was her inspiration. She urged her mum to let her take baby ballet classes and have already graudated from Grade 8 now. Ja Yeon also took various Hip Hop and Street Jazz dance classes during her free time to improve herself more.

Ja Yeon grew up there for 10 years before returning back to Busan at 2007. Her Dad went back to SM for work as usual while Ja Yeon and her Mum stayed in Busan. When Ja Yeon returned, she quickly make friends with her neighbours, one happening to be current member of Apink, Jung Eunji. Although they had a 4 years , their love for music brought them together. Both got along very well and became best friends.

In 2010, Eunji left Busan to audition for the Main Vocal position in Apink which left JaYeon to herself. Few months of Eunji left, JaYeon decided to go to Seoul herself and audition herself for a trainee position. As her Dad was working under SM, Ja Yeon was offered to have a private audition with SM anytime she wants but she rejected the offer as she heard about an agency named "Sunshine Entertainment", she felt that she would audition there for that she is nicknamed "Sunflower" and that working with her Dad in the same company was too stressful. Ja Yeon auditioned by freestyling a short hiphop routine and a short rap routine. She got accepted and started training.

In 2013, Ja Yeon's hardwork paid off and she was selected to be one of the Daisy members.

Ja Yeon was going to meet her Dad in SM Entertainment's studio when she heard a song that she have never heard before. "Probably a comeback from...SHINee!" she thought. Ja Yeon being curious, went over to where the music was playing. She peeped into the small window on the door and saw SHINee dancing to the music. "Wah..." Ja Yeon mumbled while watching. SHINee was known for their difficult dance steps and when she saw Taemin dancing it like its nothing, she was amazed. At that point, she accidentally falls forward as she leaned too much forward. She fall onto the ground and look up to see 6 faces staring at her. The extra face being the coach. "Oh Jayleigh! Your dad's waiting for you at the studio and it's impolite to peep!" Coach Han said and laughed. And that was how Taemin and Ja Yeon met.

How You Interact: 

Whenever Ja Yeon have to meet her Dad in SM Entertainment, she would bring along Banana Milk for Taemin. Taemin takes it as a friendly gesture and would always accept the drink and give her some SHINee sweets in exchange. What Taemin does not know is that, Ja Yeon treasures the candies a lot and would eat them sparingly. Taemin treats Ja Yeon like a younger sister and a dance buddy.
