Lock & Load
My day has been extremely crazy! As in C-R-A-Z-Y. CRAZY.
First off, I woke up late. And then I was almost left behind because I was late for the calltime. I didn't have time to eat breakfast... and the meal they prepared there is included in the long list of Things-I-Couldn't-Eat... so I was starving.
I forgot about my hunger when we arrived at the firing range in the vicinity of the Navy Base at The Fort.
Honestly, I was really excited about this experience because it's my first time to hold and shoot a real gun! It's not like I'm a member of a gang or something *remembers the comment of a certain someone* so I'm quite thrilled about this! Before they let us hold the real things, they gave a brief instruction and rules so we can maintain safety. I've been panicking about accidentally killing someone because I know I can be quite clumsy when I'm excited @__@
HOLDING THE GUN
So here's me with my Wednesday Adams hairstyle plus headband that looked like a tiara, long-sleeved hoodie, cargo pants, old and worn-out chucks... and my gun >:)
There's a proper position where you should place your grip on the gun and where to point the muzzle when not firing. Also, the way you stand is quite important to keep your balance. Those things I saw in M.I.B. where they shoot a gun and they fly backwards... that's true @_@ There's this impact when you pull the trigger.
They also required us to wear long-sleeved shirts, sunglasses, and earmuffs.
AIMING AT THE TARGET
To tell the truth, I have a bad aim. No, scratch that. I have a terrible aim. I can't even throw something at my sister even if she's just a few meters away from me. So how can I expect to hit my target board that started out with 3 meters to 5 to 10 to 15 and lastly to 20!?
SHOOTING LE HEART, ER I MEAN, LE TARGET BOARD ^-^
After they taught us how to grip the gun, how to load, and how to aim... it all went down to pulling the trigger and hitting that blasted board straight in the heart!! The gun was freaking heavy, my arms are actually hurting right now as I type this.
THE BOARD
Hours of loading and firing... and here's the result!
They were really impressed! I was extremely suprised as well! Our officers and the bosses repeatedly complimented me and some even said that I'm better than them! Judging from the target board, I only let 4 bullets slip the main target. All 21 bullets were accounted for. Nothing went out of the board :)
Every time we take steps backward and then fire away, I managed to hear their compliments and amused voices from behind me. Well, as you can see from the pictures, I'm the smallest one here. Everyone treats me like a kid. They even teased at first that I should use water pistol instead XD
After seeing my target board, nobody mentioned a water pistol anymore >:)
Overall, my experience was INCREDIBLE!
Sure, the gun was heavy, I have sore arms right now.
And sure I didn't have earmuffs so I used my normal earphones during firing... SO I BELIEVE MY EARDRUMS ARE DAMAGED NOW CAUSE I'VE BEEN HEARING THIS HIGH PITCHED SOUND SINCE MORNING AND EVERYONE SEEMED UNDERWATER WHEN THEY'RE TALKING TO ME @_@ Eotteoke?
But it was all worth it!
Honestly right now I'm thinking of saving money to buy my own gun and join again next time if they have a schedule of firing <3 It's really relaxing and very enjoyable!
P.S.
I even had music playing while I shot.
My playlist was named Lock&Load containing Super Junior's Don't Don, SPY (I felt energetic with that cause you know, it's SPY and I was holding a gun and all hahaha), Twins, A-Cha etc ^-^
