Rum Pum Pum Pum - My Review

ok guys. as a side thing, i think i'm going to start doing song reviews on comebacks and debuts. So i know a lot of you guys fans of f(x) but i'm going to give an honest and unbiased review. I'll tell you right now that i am not a fan of f(x), not because i don't like them, but just because i don't listen to their music. Please understand the difference. ok, lets start!!

The Song:

Of course, die hard f(x) fans will love anything that they do and support it 100%, but i on the other hand, have learned to really evaluate music. The song is a typical SM song. I listened to their highlight medley and there were a few other songs in their album that would have made a much better title song. It's kind of how i feel about EXO's Wolf. There were really nice songs in their album with a lot more potential that the one they chose as their title song, but they decide to use the one that honestly sounds quite awkward to the ear. But, this is a song that basically screams f(x). this type of techno/pop genre is their style so i guess i should have seen this coming. Honestly, I actually was hoping that they'd comeback with they song they had used in their teaser, but my hopes were crushed!! Jk, but i did like that song better. To me, this song is one of those songs that you don't really like, but when it's comes on, you can't help but to sing along to the chorus because that's just how catchy the song is.

The Dance:

The dance was actually quite nice. i like the hip thing towards the end and then the feet tapping thing. The beginning turn was kind of like a, "hey, look at me" type thing. This is one of the few things i appreciate about SM's girl groups. Their dances are even as close to as complicated as the male group dances, but they still have that flare that the male groups have. If you get what i mean. What i've noticed is that f(x) doesn't really use appeal as their source of popularity. Those who have seen my rant about HyunAh know what i mean. Yes, their skirts are still short and their s are terribly low cut, but they show less skin than HyunAh does combined. ok, i'm going off topic so let's get to the next category.

The MV:

3 words. Typical. SM. Video. The sets were actually very pretty. My favorite one was the white one with the pinkish/red lights, but i knew that the famous SM box set with weird lighting was going to be back. It's the only thing SM seems to know how to do when it comes to making mv's. For example, let's look back to EXO's drama version of Wolf.

It did not meet my expectations. I mean, i can't be the only one who feels this way right? EXO's teaser for the drama version was 110% better than the actual video!! I was all hyped up because they made us wait so long and in the back of my head i was all "OMG this video's going to be awesome!!!!" but then when it actually came out

.

.

-_-+ THAT'S IT?!?!?!?!

SM decides to troll us once again and puts that "To be continued..." thing at the end of the video and there were a lot of loose ends in that video too. Like, how did she become friends with them all of a sudden? Wasn't it weird hanging out with 11 (gorgeous) thugs? And what was up with kris? And why the hell were you crying at the end?!?!? and i'm sorry to say, but EXO's acting was.... Anyway! Back to f(x)!! I kind of got the same feeling when i listened to their teaser. I was listening to the music and i thought, "hey. it's not bad. maybe this song will actually get me into the group." But then the second teaser was released and it was a completely different song. i was confused and then slightly disappointed, but hey. It's their company making the choices. not them.

Even if you are an f(x) fan, you have to admit. Krystal got ALL of the screen time in that mv. i mean, i she probably got  2 minutes worth of screen time in that 3 minute video. Either there were shots of her singing, she was dancing in the front, or she was just there on that revolving glass thingy. i mean, they're f(x). Not Krystal and her backup dancers. i understand that the other members also got screen time. i'm not stupid and i'm just exaggerating the 2 minutes thing. All i'm saying is that Krystal got a lot of time to shine.

The Outfits:

I actually really liked the clothing in this mv. It's actually very subtle compared to SNSD's I Got A Boy. Their hair was really nice, i LOVED the shoes, the make up was fantastic, and the colored contacts were stunning. One complaint how ever. Why would they dress Krystal in an all red and then dye her hair red too. And on top of that, some of the backdrops were red. I think that that kind of blended her into the mv. But the red was a nce change from her normally black hair color. i really like Sulli, Luna, and Amber's new hair color, and Victoria's hair was fabulous as always. The bejeweled eyebrow that amber had was really cool. Maybe i'll do it for Halloween or something...

I know it may seem like i'm baging on Krystal, but i'm really not. I actually prefer Victoria or Amber over her though. There were good and bad points about this mv, but there are in every mv out there. Thanks for reading. it may or may not be a regular thing. if it does, maybe i'll just create a song review story thing... idk.. BYE!!

i'm sorry if i offended f(x), EXO, or hyunAh fans out there!!!!

We have same thought about Krystal

It irritated me that Krystal got a majority of the screen time. I love Krystal and all, but I hardly saw Luna or Victoria. The MV was a typical SM music video, but I was happy they were back to their challenging dances because Electric Shock wasn't that hard compared to their other songs. I do think another song on the album could've been better and it is like how SM did with EXO: choose the weirdest song and promote that to the fullest lol.
But I'm happy f(x) is finally back.
